Copyright Infringement?

Alright, I did this picture for another RPer on another board. I did not recieve a "thank you" for it, but that's not the point. The point is that I specifically had a copyright on the image and it was altered. Is this an infringement or not? Can you help me decide?

This is my pic:

(Cpoy and paste that into your browser window)

And this is how the other person altered it:

Help me... if my rights are being violated, let me know.

Well thats a nice pic Black Dragon, but I cant see the other one that was altered. Anyways I think that it would only be infringment if the other person said they made it themselves or didn't list that the image was borrowed from you. Sorry I am not sure, I'll go ask my dad late he is the Chief of Police in the city I live in so Im sure he will know.

Edit: Oh wait now I can see it, but I still don't know if that person listed anything about getting the image from you on their page?

I don't think you can claim anything unless you specifically "registered" the copyright... like companies do.

I get the same thing happen with Oddworld-Web. I found some site out there once (I think it is listed in the Oddworld topsites) which used my Oddworld animations and stole text directly (without changing the words) from both Oddworld-Web and Oddworldian without any credit whatsoever. But other than emailing the person, there's not much to do.

Anyone (and I've done it myself) can put a C (copyright) symbol next to something... but without official registration, it's just like putting nothing up. It sucks... but that's how it is.
