Editing Levels

I read in the back of my PC edition of AO that some products may include a level editor/maker, does anyone have this?

Abe's Oddysee. I naver heard about this. It will be very cool if this feature can be added to a game like Hand of Odd, so there you will be able to create your own maps.

Edit: Sorry Rich and Alcar. I got abruptly disconnected to Oddchat because I stepped on the power cable of my computer and it turned off acidentally.

Actually, Lorne himself has said he has no intention of bringing out a level designer for Oddworld.

I don't really know if I like the idea of being able to mould your own Oddworld, though.

OWI should make a Oddworld experience package for PC. It could have a level creator/editor for the original side scrolling Abe games with all new features and inhabbitence from MO (like Munch and Big Bro's), A virtural pet simulator (with a elum, a fleech and a slog plus any other pets from oddworld), A choce of screen pal's that have a heap of animations and each a realistic vocie synthersiser (so he can tells jokes, say catch phrases and stuff), Not to mention desk top theams and screen savers...

That's interresting: people here on the whole generally disagree with a cartoon series of Oddworld, but seem to support the idea of a level editor.

I agree with xavier, the mysticisme, for gods sake, the ODDNESS would be gone! Oddworld should just stay a game, and (I say this quite tenuisly and with trepidation) PERHAPS a movie.

I guess a lot of people won't like Hand of Odd then. Since it will be online, people have to either type or talk with a headset to each other. So the Oddworld voices will vanish. I mean, I doubt we could memorize hundreds of GameSpeak buttons, lol .

I alway figgered that "Hand of Odd" would be a point and click game with your comand being said by the game after you click and then followed by a responce by other charictos. I would hate to type in a game!
However the idea of voice activation would be so cool, but eventhough you said the words in your own voice Im sure the game would repeat what you said ether after or dueing your speech command. And as a result you would only hear the vocies of the charictors that other people are playing and not their own.
So I think any existing Oddworld fan would injoy such a game. I know I would.

Hmm, that would be cool if they could convert your voice when you talked in the mic or something. Can you even do that, though

Yes you can change your voice to match a charictor... The best way to do it would be to run your speach through a vocie synthersiser to change your voice. That way some qulitys of your voice would be retaind like emotion and loudness. This new voice can then be sent to the other players. You would also need to run a basic vocie recognision system that tells the computer what you want. It would only need to recognise some words as alot of words are wasted space in a sentence. Also this could act as a control, excanging some of the words you say with others. To do this once it identerfies the word plays back the word as anuther version in anuther voice from cross-refrencing its libery.
