Question about Exoddus

I want to replay Abe's Exoddus and save all of the mudokons, although I have a question: are the hidden mudokons locations able to be found fairly, or is a walk-through required?

I don't want to use a walk-through, but I want to make sure the secrets are able to be found without one.

Abe's Exoddus secrets are marked by Brew bottles on the screen they're hidden in
