How many of you played Oddworld from the begining?

Hello Oddworld nuts.

When i was a little shit i remember getting a copy of Abes Oddysee for the psx, and i remember how magical the gameplay felt "even though ot usto scare the shit out of me" but it always was the most amazing games i've ever played. *edit* also the gamespeak blew me away because i never saw that in a a game ever

So this got me to think.

Who else has had the chace to actually play the series from the start amd what memories do you guys have playing back the 90's?

I remember getting my 1st playstation from my parents who got it for me and my siblings. The earliest memory of Abe was in like, 1996 or 1997 when demo disk were all the craze.

Basically, I remember my brother playing and possessing a sleeping slig. My parents were watching at this time too and they thought this game wasn't violent or anything. I remember how shocked my mum was when we all saw the slig get exploded into bits. Anyways at that point, I just loved the series because the world looked fantastic and my 6 year old brain couldn't handle so much awesome.

Secretly as a kid I always wanted to help the developers out when making the games. Childhood dream accomplished last year.

In 1997 i was 3 years old and my dad has always told me that he used to sit me on his lap whilst playing abe. When i got a little older he let me play it with him. I used to get home from school, find my dad and play it all the time. I could never play the game without him, it then got to the stage where i was going to highschool and my dad went to great distances to work, i hardly ever saw him, and when i did he was in such aweful moods that i used to get pushed away and left to take car of my mum and my sister. Graduating highschool, i started college and my dad had finished his long distance work. So i fired up the ps3, downloaded abe's oddysee after about 7/8 years and we played it together once again. The day i turned 18 i got a tattoo of oddworld for respect in bringing me and my father close together.

It was my first game for PlayStation and I always snuck downstairs to play it till the early hours of the morning! Might explain why I was a dipshit in school with lack of sleep. Everytime I hear the oddworld AO music it gives me overwhelming memories! But also angry ones with continuously dying trying to defuse a bomb....

Hands down best game I've played to this day and I doubt anything will come close..

Blagh, the good old days.

Got my ps1 sometime when I was 3 or 4 and the first game I ever "played" was Oddworld Abe's Oddysee. Fucking loved that game above all. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro had nothing on Abe. Awhile later, I almost fucking died of excitement from the new Abe's Exoddus game.

I was about 6. I used to sneak down in the middle of the night to repeatedly play Monsaic Lines.

That giant Scrab statue was the best thing ever to my young and undeveloped mind.

When I got a PS1, when I was about 6 years, a special disc came with it.

So, I just played all the games it had, but when I reached Abe's Oddysee I was scared. I thought it was a game of terror. But after one or two tries, I fell completely in love with the game. I purchased the GT edition, but somehow lost it, so got a Infrogames Edition of it for 5 bucks. Great deal. Few months after that, I got a demo with Exoddus. Loved it even more! But didn't had the full game until some years later, when I was about 14, a friend of mine gave it as a birthday present and Korn's "Take a look in the mirror" disc. Man, that summer was one of the best summers I ever had. When I play the game I remember the music and when P play the music, I remember the game. And because I really like Oddworld, I play Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus at least one time per year. It's a tradition now.

First I saw of Oddworld was the demo version on a PSX demo disc while visiting my sister and her boyfriend. I thought it was an amazing game and played through the demo multiple times. The first few times I didn't understand how to get past the minefield in the stockyards, but then I figured out that you're not supposed to get past it, lol.

SO MUCH like Steamer_KING... When I was maybe 6 or 7, uncle bought me Psx and there was added demo disc one (or something like this). After couple of moments, I've started the Abe's demo and my first thought was like "this game is based on music instructor song? Strange...". Then, I was thinking the whole time about this "game". There was a moment when something came to my head "this is the game of your life...".
I know it sounds funny but I remember that moment very clearly. Its a little bit creepy, because AO is my favourite (or second favourite) game.
