So today i was sitting in Health class and my teacher started talking about children. unfortunately it lead to the girls talking about how much it would hurt and then it just got more and more disturbing so we should just leave that bit out of this thread.
But anyway its just been skimming my mind so what are your thoughts on children, do you like them or hate them? and how many would you want, do you want a boy or a girl, and what would you name them :P

Personally i want an asian kid named wabaki sunyum migorengs that can play every song on final fantasy on piano and if he doesn't ill beat the crap out of him (noracist)
But since i have no asian blood in me i can only make half asains which just wont do.

also ive always liked the name paige for a girl and francis for a guy

That said, I'm a real worrywart, so I dunno if I'd have the nerve for raising a child.

Little shits is down to bad parenting. I was rarely punished as a child because I really never did anything bad and if I ever did it was for something that I thought was okay to do. I was a polite, well-mannered child but I don't know what has happened to wains these days. If I was to have a stab at it I would put it down to really lazy, possibly (moe than likely where I'm from) teenagers that got knocked up for alls teh moneys and teh houses. Fucking nanny country we live in.

The only way to get rid of cunt children is to literally act like a fucking crazy person at them, roaring and screaming and telling them to fuck off as quick as possible. Never see them again.

my parents were always not strict, but they just taught me that the way to live is with manners and goody two shoesness, unfortunately that made me rebel when i became a teen and i think that would be the hard part of parenting for me, the whole rebellious stage.

I fucking hate 95% of all children ever. They all seem to be gobby little shits intent on fucking around with everyone else's happiness. I don't expect I'll ever have children, unless by some amazing feat of chance I marry and the women wants them, and convinces me to have them. Thing is, I'd be so fucking worried about my son or daughter if I had one, even before they were born, I know I'd spend the nine months panicking that they'd be happy and healthy, be born without diseases or ailments. What if they got bullied, what if they started doing drugs when they were older, what if they never got a fucking job and scrounged off me until the day I died, etcetera....

You know how much of a relief it is to hear most people on here aren't looking to have kids? I don't feel so... strange? That may not be the word.

For a start I don't like kids, I mean, some can be cute and funny, but I don't think that's enough for me to actually want to have one. I couldn't deal with the tantrums and the crying. The main reason I don't want to have any is because they take up quite a bit of your life and to be honest I'd like to spend that doing things I want to do. It may sound selfish but that's how I feel at the moment.

I hate how society perceives children. Especially babies. Babies are pathetic, all they do is shit themselves and cry all day. But everyone thinks they're the best god dammed thing in the whole fucking universe.

I once saw a news report about some guy who was in a car accident and received extensive brain damage. He is now a complete vegetable; he just flails his fucking limbs around all day and screams. Oh yeah and he shits everywhere too. If I told my family I wanted to adopt him they'd think I was fucking insane, but as far as I am concerned he's equally as useless and equally demanding as any ugly little brat. I doubt anyone would want to take turns of nursing him either.

Maybe later I will rant about how I hate mothers.

I hate kids. All they do is annoy me from watever age they're at, till about 16. They scream in public places as well and cry. I'm tryna' eat my dinner, for fucks sake, SHUT UP!
I'll never ever want kids, and nothing can change that, they dribble everywhere and shit all over the place and then, to put the nail in the coffin, whatever food or milk you give them, they puke it straight back up! Children have never been that important to me. I'm sure i'd want them somewhere along the line but I don't I could ever adopt a child. I wouldn't have the heart to tell them, plus I'd be a terrible father whether it's my own or not. When I was born my mother had a Cesarean and the knife went into my head, explains alot, I know.

I would imagine telling your child that after all these years, you are not their biological parent would be somewhat awkward. Though if you're open with them from an early age I don't see why there should be a problem.

It's just the thought of then being rejected by that child after you've told them they're adopted. It's one thing to lose a child but to also lose a child that wasn't really yours in the first place, I wouldn't want to have to put anybody through that.
If I had to adopt, I'd adopt one of the orphaned teenagers that are really looking for a home but are often rejected due to their age plus they understand the situation they're in.

Then you tell them from an early age and you bring them up to accept adoptions as a natural part of society, which it is. We've been adopting others young since our words for hello and goodbye were both 'Ook'.

But I agree what Meech said, obviously I'm only 18 and my mind will change when I get older. I will most likely change my mind once I get into a long-term relationship that I think will last for the rest of my life.
