Well, it's recently been announced, and apparently, its going to be a completely new story and new characters, and going back to the classic resi survival horror, looking forward to it? dreading it? what are you thoughts, post them below...

That approach won't get you vary far here. Accept that you posted it in the wrong place and move on.

Dynamithix gave Arkham City it's own thread because it's a highly anticipated game and there was a reasonable amount of discussion to be had around it. This game isn't even announced yet.

Hey! My Arkham City thread had lots of content, no one just posted in it, hah.

Anyways, I'm pretty excited that they're making a new Resident Evil (I don't count Operation: Raccoon City as a RE game, it looks like a dumb multiplayer spin-off game.) but that logo looks pretty dumb to be honest. I hope we'll get some more info about it later this year.

agreed. yeah operation raccon city is made by some other company, but to be honest i'm really annoyed about mercinaries 3D, simply because its on the 3DS, if i had the money, i would by one, simply because of that one game, it lloks amazing...

It isn't though. It only has 3 save slots and if you 100% one, you can't delete it and start a new game. It's overall so repetitive and doesn't deserve to be a full priced game. I would buy it though if it was on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200msp.

Nothing after RE3 counts as RE at all for me so going back to zombies instead of the fucking las plagas zealots and african voodoo spice men will be a big woop for me!

Yeah, what STM said, Resident Evil 4 and 5 are really good in their own way, but they're not truly Resident Evil.

With the exception of Resident Evil 5, I can think of no game in the series that wasn't good, yet for some reason I just can't think of it as a good series.

So by extension of it being a good series, it should ride the train as long as possible and fart out so many sequels that any ounce of originality or respectability it once had is depleted?

As Joe pointed out, RE5 was kind of shit (omitting Mercenaries, which kicks ass). It's suffering from a serious case of series decay. With each release it departs more and more from it's roots, and has pretty much been diluted to a watered-down, poorly-written scrapbook of action cliches and sci-horror tropes. Wesker's dead, many of the major conflicts have been resolved, and there are almost as many fucking RE movies as there are games. Let it fucking die.

Silent Hill has been doing the same thing lately (though to a lesser extent). We need a new horror series already.

Look, to all those people saying its dying, i agree, theyre still good games but like stm said, theyre not resi, so thats why resi 6 is going to be sort of like a reboot, it will be set after resi 5, but it will be a completetly new fresh plot with new characters apparently, as i agree that they have gone as far as they could with the umbrella story, theyve dragged it on. and about the logo, that one that i posted may have just been an oldee one, because i have seen that other one before.
