At the moment, I'm on Ridg3's boat about children. I proper fucking despise them, noisy and irritating little things full of tears and snot.

I could see myself gradually changing that viewpoint; I have two nieces and I love them, but you know...they're kids so they're annoying as fuck at times.

Also Ridg3, incase your maternal mojo calls you, always best to cryo some of that bitter white jam incase you hit 40 and you made a mistake.

Or wait til technology kicks in and babies are grown in vats, able to skip the baby and toddler years, and keep them as normal kids before they go through those awkward teenage years.

I disagree. As I've said before, a quality cigar either with or post a nice steak and a good whiskey is one of the finer things in life. Cigarettes and alcohol are also nice. Lazing about in the heat, whether it's just under a tree or in a hammock while sipping an ice cold tea and enjoying a smoke? Lovely.

I think the 'smoking makes you look cool fad' was over about fifteen years ago. Stop reaching. And since there's some article about how an every day household object has been discovered to be carcinogenic that pops up every couple of months these days, I'd say most of us are voluntary cancer patients whether we like it or not.

My only real complaint with my fellow smokers is when they subject non-smokers to their habit. I get into arguments/scuffles with morons/douchebags who feel the need to smoke five feet away from an entrance/exit to a grocery store/public building DESPITE THE FACT THAT THIS STATE HAS A LAW STATING YOU NEED TO BE AT LEAST 25 FEET AWAY. Kids don't need a face full of second hand smoke, and neither do pregnant women or the elderly. Hell, neither do I. Despite being a casual smoker, I find the smell of second hand smoke to be quite unpleasant.

To be honest, it is rather funny. I have absolutely no qualms with walking up to random females and striking up conversation. It's incredibly easy.

I can do that if I am slightly drunk, it becomes easy for me too... but i'd like to able to do it also when I don't drink!

What about smokers who hook other people on smoking? The only reason myself and two of my others friends started smoking was because we were offered so many times. One bloke did take admittedly longer than me to give in but one girl pretty much tried at as soon as she was pressured. I know it's all down to will power and shit like that but I was surprised with how much peer pressure pushed me into smoking cigars, then cigarellos, cigarettes and eventually weed.

I think it's very good when smokers ask other people nearby if they mind them lighting up, I do this sometimes as well, it seems the right thing to do.

Like hypnosis, I don't think anyone can really be pressured into anything they didn't want to do in the first place. 'Friends' who constantly badger their peers about doing something that they're doing are pretty lame, and I really don't view them in very high esteem.

Over thirty years of social psychology tells us that humanity as a whole is pretty weak to being influenced by authorities or peers. It's definitely commendable to not take the smoke from your friend if you don't really want to, but you can hardly blame someone for giving in.
