Oddbox; Worth the Moolah?

So I was thinking about getting the Oddbox earlier from steam, got some money floating about from work and thought i'd put it to good use. I've got all 4 games already on PS1 and xbox, so my question is, is it worth buying them all again? What are the differences and is it worth it? Should I wait around until they all come out in HD or what? It seems like a pointless venture to me but I don't want to miss out on something awesome from my favorite game series!

Main point: ACHEEVABLEZ! SW and MO only!

There will most likely be Oddbox Sales between 3-12 months later, so if you wait you could nab a bargain.

Considering that MO and SW are all patched up and (mostly) functional now, for the price it's at now it's a pretty good deal.

There aren't really any huge differences, other than being able to play MO and SW at multiple resolutions and configure the controls as you like; I'd say the main motivation for buying them would be having them forever on Steam and also supporting OWI by giving them money.

I was excited at first about oddbox.... But in the end I realized that for me, I only really wanna re-play AO and AE.

I would maybe buy oddbox at some point to support, but right now I dont wanna buy anything as I need my money.

There was a 50% sale not long ago. Since that sale ended, the price halved permanently.

Does anyone else still have the controls problem in Munch's Oddysee where if you try to run and jump forward or backwards with Munch, he wont jump, but running and jumping using the left or right arrow keys WILL work.. I havent played Munch since early January because of this. I've tried playing since then but the problem's still there :/

So for me, it wasn't worth the moolah

I recall someone (I think Max) had similar issues. It could be a keyboard buffer problem.

Oh.. so.. how do I fix it? :S... So it's coz my keyboard can't accept certain multiple key inputs? Something like that? It's a driver issue?

My problem was with run-jumping in diagonals. I think if I turned the default movement to run (therefore requiring fewer buttons depressed at once), it wasn't a problem. I can check.

EDIT: It's not problem for me at all any more, but it definitely was when the Oddboxx came out. JAW must have fixed it, at least for me.

I find Munch is hard to play with Keyboard anyway, I need to get a 360 controller for my PC.

I play SW very well without controllers. As for Munch's Oddysee...

I play MO well without mouse and SW well with mouse, it's all a matter of controls settings

Interesting. I can play MO just fine without a controller, but SW I struggle relying on keyboard and mouse. WSAD is just awkward given the organic angles of paths. Mouse is usually better for FPSs, but with that damned smoothing it's a pain in the arse. Plus I'd like to be able to configure the inversions of the 1st and 3rd person cameras separately.

You can can't you? Stranger's wrath has two options for inverting the camera, one for first person and one for third.

When (or perhaps if is more appropriate here) they finish HDifying MO and SW I assume they'll just release it as a patch for the original. Has anything been said about this.
