The mystery continues! And as it rolls along, a following is accreting.
AbeMudokon is a Tweeter who has started generating a lot of interest around the Internet. Video game blogs and forums are reporting on his latest tweet (see below), but it remains to be seen whether the account is official (being updated by a member of OddMobb or a friend thereof) or not (being updated by a cheeky fan with no connection to OddMobb).
Generally his tweets are cute comments implying he's still a worker at RuptureFarms, saying how he's just been made Employee of the Year or wondering what's in New N Tasty. Except… it doesn't exactly scream authenticity. Inconsistent grammar, even with Oddworld terms, is noticeable, but then Mudokons aren't exactly the most eloqent or educated workers. He definitely likes saying hello to other Tweeters and getting them to follow him (pun probably intended).
A select few of AbeMudokon's tweets come across as though he knows what to expect in the near future.
One exchange has it that he's "thinking about" a 2.5D... well, the word "game" isn't actually used.
Another tweet has him claim a new Oddworld.com is coming soon, although our confirmed official source on the Forums never identified the address of the upcoming "New Oddworld site", opting instead to give us an
estimated release date.
His
latest tweet (that's not an @reply)…
:
In less than 48hrs, the truth will start to come out.... Sssssssssh #Oddworld

…suggests an imminent announcement. We'll see. If nothing else it's caught the attention of a lot of people.
Digital Spy's Liam Martin,
CVG's Tom Pakinkis,
PlayStation Universe's Mike Harradence,
That Videogame Blog's Jamie Feltham and
Xugo Gaming's William Carpenter have all seen fit to report this "news". Meanwhile, dedicated Oddworld news source has mysteriously neglected to do the same.
What do you reckon? Viral marketing or convincing imposter? Lame fanboy or endearing floor waxer first class?
EDIT: Stewart Gilray, the managing director of Just Add Water, has confirmed that the AbeMudokon account is theirs. So that clears that up.
