Graphics on Steam

Do the graphics of Abe's Exoddus and Oddysee, specifically the cutscenes, seem below par to anyone else? Was the quality of the Playstation version better?

I believe that the cutscenes for the PC release had more compression than the PS version, which would reduce quality. However, the Steam version is identical to the original PC game.

I think the compression is the same, but on TV things loook smoother... The ingame graphics are [I think] the same, but on PC you can e.g. turn off interlines...

The PS Versions do look very smooth. Especially on a PSP.

The PC versions are higher resolution and smoothed out, the real game resolution is 640x240 (perfect resolution for PSP yeah ?) and its smooth scaled to 640x480 on pc. Since TV's are extremely low res the PS version appears to look nicer even though its actually not!

I wouldn't be suprised if games on Steam looked worse, they have to compress it to increase download rates. But I'm suprised Oddworld looks worse on the PC the screenshots look so sharp.

Only in the FMVs. The gameplay resolution is the same as it ever was.

It won't, unless we're talking about the in-game cutscenes from Stranger. I think they will be in higher resolution, the engine seems capable of outputting HD resolutions.
