tesla coils

has anyone here ever built a tesla coil? me and my dad are working on a solid state tesla coil. has anyone else ever built one? so far mine cost me about 80$. if anyone else has built one, could you tell me if its a vacuum tube coil or solid state?

It's a defence sentry on Red Alert 2. That shoots a telsa beam at all ground non-allied troops and tanks. It can kill a fully upgraded tanya in 3 Hits.

actaully its a real thing that generates thousands of volts of electricity at extremely low current. but yeah its also in red alert 2.
