Attention all Gabriel Knight fans

I hope you don't mind me posting this here, but we need to spread the word around. A group of Gabriel Knight fans, including me, have got together to try to convince Sierra into creating a GK4.

The plan to voice our demand for GK4 to Sierra is as follows:

People will mail a postcard to Sierra at the following address:

Sierra On-Line, Inc.
4247 S Minnewawa Ave
Fresno, CA 93725

The postcard should be around 3 lines long, with the clear message that we want a new GK and that Sierra started off as an adventure making company. Of course you can add your own ideas, but keep it relatively short. It would be better if the postcard isn't sent in an envelope but on its own.

Keep sending those postcards until the middle of January and then we'll strike them with the petition!

I really hope there are some GK fans here!

I loved GK 1 and 2. I just bought GK 3 for 10 bucks a little while ago. As adventure games are my favorites, I used to think that Sierra was "the" game company, but they have really lost it since getting acquired by Havas, etc. Half-Life is awesome, but I have little interest in most of the other stuff.

I know that Jane Jensen has said she's pretty much out of the gaming business, at least for now. I guess she is pursuing other writing gigs. Are you imagining or have you heard that she would get involved? Or is the effort just to get Sierra to do GK4 whatever it takes? I'm not suggesting that someone else couldn't do a good job with GK, I'm just curious as to what's going on with Sierra. I haven't been to their web site in maybe 2 years.

The situation is rather sad. Sierra owns the rights to the GK characters and name, and they no longer wish to pursue making adventure games. They won't sell the rights to Jane, so she can't make the game with another company

I too used to love Sierra. They were my idol since I was six years old. Now all that is gone, and we're left with a company that makes first person shooters...

Jane would write a GK4 if she could, she said so herself, but she is stuck to writing novels for now.

You should come and join the GK forum at Sierra's website, Doug It's a great little community there, and you'd be very welcome.

All the best games seem to be disappearing - even MO doesn't seem to be living up to standard

Wow, did Sierra actually declare that they're not going to make adventure games anymore, or has that just become de facto policy?

I'll have to check out the GK forum when I get a chance. Thanks for the suggestion, Oddness. By the way, how are you known over there? If I join, maybe I should come up with a more imaginative handle than my real name.

I'm known as "Dragon Goddess" over there (kinda different from my name here, isn't it? Heh.). I hope you decide to join us soon

Oh, and get on with playing GK3! In my opinion it's the best of the three
