New Oddworld interview

This was a very interesting interview with some new info.

In the interview he says this:
"TD – Will the gaming community ever see a re-release of the first two Oddworld games on the PSN store for PS3?

LL - Funny you should ask, because they are already on their way. We just signed the contract this week and the original Abe games will officially be coming to PSN very soon. "

So anyone know about how long it takes from signing the contract to being released on the PSN? If they only signed it this week, then I doubt the 2 oddworld games will come out this thursday on the PSN (it gets updated every thursday)

This is interesting news. Question: how well do you think a current model lap top would be able to run all four games?

In theory it should be fine, as it would have more processing power and memory than the Xbox.

That said, it depends on how they're running the game engine. If they're running an Xbox virtual machine, that would take up extra processing power. You'll have to wait and see.

I'd recommend people to only play MO and SW with controllers. Platforming games like that tend to be shite with keyboards.

Oh well. It aint so bad hat they didn't make SW backwards compatible because now I can just pay more money to get a game I already own.

Hmm very interesting, Also this bit caught my attention.

"Regarding the library, we are in process of converting Munch and Stranger to the PC so that all four of the major Oddworld games will be re-releasing this winter in a package called “The Oddbox”. This will be the Abe games, Munch, and Stranger as one package for Steams digital distribution network, as well as a few other digital distribution outlets."

A few other digital distribution outlets,,,,
PSN is one candidate, as AO and AE are being released on there as well,
But he says it like hinting at more platforms.

I think he meant places like GOG.com, converting the xbox games to current-gen consoles sounds like a bit of a stretch just to sell them on PSN or XBLA. But I could be wrong, maybe it's a lot easier than I think.

Fall 2009, Winter 2009, Spring 2009, Summer 2009?

That's almost as awful as saying that January, February and March don't constitute Spring! (Which is what I believed as a child).

No, what would be awful is if the Southern Hemisphere were forced to call their cold, dead months "Summer" and their hot, sunny months "Winter" just to synch the four seasons with ours.

Some parts of the world don't even have four seasons, I hope you know.

Holy crap. I don't even care about the Oddbox, seeing as I already have the four games, but I have been waiting sooooooo freaking long for AO and AE to be released in the PSN! My PSP is gonna be soooooo happy! Oh, a little off topic. I still haven't heard anything about Citizen Siege. Anyone heard any news on it?

I wish they would, though. I don't play games on the pc, and I can't abide playing a non-HD game system on my HD tv's. The blurring gives me a headache.

I wonder if the Oddbox will come with a few extra "special features". Now, I get emails that Oddworld will be released on PSN on October 21st. This is when there will probably be an official announcement. And I thought Oddworld was dead.
