Here, here. I agree wholeheartedly. Although Pilot already had a topic along these lines some weeks ago now, another one doesn't hurt at all, especially when it is praising Lorne Lanning and Oddworld Inhabitants.
Nothing annoys me more than those people who criticize Lorne, or bag Oddworld. Whether it be for the Xbox move, or the SoBe Vending machines, or any number of other things that some people on here like to criticize about.
I have said it from day one... I stand by every decision that Oddworld makes. When Oddworld first announced the exclusivity to the Xbox, I was over at the Infogrames Forums defending Oddworld from all manner of complaints, abuse, and anything else disgruntled PS2 owners wanted to throw at them. Why? Not because I had to, no one told me I had to, but not only because I wanted to, but also because I truly believe that every decision that Oddworld makes is for the best in the long run (whether that be for the fans, the game, or any other number of reasons).
There has been regulars on this forum who like to jump on the "critic" bandwagon. Those who call Lorne nasty names which I would never repeat for a million dollars, and those who go as far as not having anything to do with Oddworld simply for the fact of a few SoBe vendos.
It's a game... and sure some of us live and breathe Oddworld (hey, I'm one of these)... but just because there is something different or something has been changed... it is no reason to complain and say that you're never going to play another Oddworld game again. And to those of us that truly believe Oddworld is more than a game... then we should be accepting all of Oddworld's decisions. Maybe they aren't what we wanted... but you've got ot realize that there is a lot of work put into these games... and any changes are done for a reason.
OK... so I'm starting to ramble now. But I just want to say... that Lorne Lanning, I have a lot of respect for you, probably more than many on this world. Due to the characters you created, the company you run, the games you create. The same for Sherry and everyone else at Oddworld Inhabitants. If it weren't for you... these forums wouldn't be here and all of us wouldn't be discussing your games. But also, because your games have so much meaning. It is not often where you can play a game and you can realize some of the issues that are facing our "real" world. I think the message that you are conveying is a very positive one, it's a shame we don't see more of this in a world where much is taken for granted.
Lorne, Sherry, Oddworld... you are the greatest.
And to anyone else... Oddworld is a company that cares about it's fans. Just remember this next time you see a FOM, or the Dear Alf pages of the official site. This is very rare from any gaming company.
And finally, to OddBodd, why hate Lorne... you do not know him. I have met him, and he is one of the nicest people I have met. I speak from experience, not just because I am a fan.

I was just joking around in 1, 2, M's topic about not liking the X Box. You know, trying to be a smart @$$. Lorne is a creative guy and, while I may not always agree with his ethics, I'll always support him.
