Oddworld Oddworld Roundhouse

Oddworld Roundhouse
An Oddworld Fan Project

Description
Oddworld Roundhouse is a fan-made Oddworld game. It will feature 3D and uses the Unity Engine from Unity Technologies. In Oddworld Roundhouse Abe is trapped in a large Rupture Farms like factory in an unknown location on Mudos. He will face wave after wave of industrial character, including Sligs, Slogs and Glukkons in this arcade style game.

Oddworld Roundhouse Q&A
Q For what platform will Oddworld Roundhouse be developed?
A Oddworld Roundhouse will be available on both Windows and Mac OSX.

Q What engine does Oddworld Roundhouse use?
A We use the Unity Engine from Unity Technologies to develop Oddworld Roundhouse. (http://www.unity3d.com/)

Q Will Oddworld Roundhouse cost money?
A No, as we do not own any rights to Oddworld it will be completely free. Promise.

Q How will I be able to obtain a copy of Oddworld Roundhouse after it's release?
A We will make use of digital distribution for Oddworld Roundhouse. Details aren't known yet but will be revealed before release.

Q What camera angle will Oddworld Roundhouse feature?
A As we were afraid that a Third or First person view will be too much to handle for us at this point in terms of making the level feel alive and real, a thing Oddworld Munch Oddysee suffered from, we have decided on a camera angle like Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld Abe's Exoddus but with a small 3D touch.

Q What kind of story is there to Oddworld Roundhouse?
A As we don't want to touch the Oddworld Canon (yet) with Oddworld Roundhouse it won't feature a storyline. We are sorry but we feel like we are too inexperienced to start playing with some-one else his Canon at this point.

Q So how can a game be fun without a storyline?
A We know that some of you will be disappointed by this decision but we know what we are doing. We will make sure that player get an really great experience.

Q So anything about the game then?
A Oddworld Roundhouse will feature one environment where players will be able to use a lot of different approaches to repel Industrial forces.

Due to the increasing amount of images in this topic I replaced the images with links that lead to the image.

So... I'm guessing this is a 3D Oddworld fangame? Whatever it is, it looks very promising! I can't wait to see more news.

Slig Base 3d Model done!

Hey everyone! week is getting to it's end so time to give you a small update.
I just wanted to let you guys know that the Slig base model is now as good as done, might take a few little adjustments to get it perfectly optimized for the game.
Here is a quick image to show you the Slig.

Enjoy!

I would like to thank Xavier for his great work on TOGG. (http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/togg/) Without your work ours would be so much harder. Thank You!

Not to sound like a smart alec or anything... but are you sure you've got the right shade of green? I think the average Slig only has 'hints' of green... like in this picture;

(Sorry if I'm wrong btw)

Hey Alexfili, I really appreciate your feedback I am going to research the slig a bit in the following hour, Will get back to you with my opinion then

Edit: I'm already done haha! I think you're right that it's (too) green. Here is a screenshot I found and I think I just need to bring in a little bit of brown.
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/7...91ace13wk6.jpg

Edit2: Included a image with three different versions, Could some people give some feedback and pick number 1, 2 or 3 ?
Personally I like 2 the best.

Probably if you made the second pair a bit darker but not greener. If you know what I mean.

I like those colours, mainly the second one. I've got an idea... you could keep all three of the different shades, maybe add a few more, and put them all in the game? This would make Sligs a little more different from eachother.

@MoCo. Executive, Will experiment with that in a bit.

@Jordan, I might do that but I have to keep in mind that textures are one of the things that greatly affect the overall game performance. I am aiming for low-system requirements so that many people will be able to play it. I will have to experiment with that for a while.

I personally like 3. But it would be good for the user to be able to swap the Slig textures in and out, depending on their preferences.

Keep the requirements Low-Spec please. The best kind of game I can play on my PC ATM is Aliens VS Predator 2 or Spore. People can always opt for high-res textures/models or high resolution displays AFTER the game is made anyway.

This is looking good. Keep it up.
I personally like number 2 because you don't want it too green or too dark. That's just about right I think.
I look foward to playing it when it's complete
