Oddworld Quake 3 Match: Sligs VS Mudokons!

I found two really awesome Quake3 Models for Sligs and Mudokons. The Mudokon one has TWELVE! different skin color options including Blind and Big Face.

I think it would be really great to get together and play a match sometime. Anyone else up for it?
I've added a few more colours to the Slig model for better player choice

Great models! I wish I still had Quake 3. Got so bored of it though after the years. I reckon someone needs to make some levels that resemble Rupture Farms, and such for it this idea to be hell good.

Well there are quite a few factory levels.
Now there are plenty of player models to choose from so this should be interesting. I might add in a few female Slig models from my Silpher's Pack series

Quake 3 is quite a small download and theres always a demo for you to try out.
I'd really recommend it, I think we can get a lot of people playing this

That made my jaw fall straight through the floor through the core of the Earth. That's how awesome it is. I'll have to buy Quake 3.

Quake III Arena. Ideally you need the latest version 1.32, and it needs to be UI version 6. Basically as long as you patch it with the latest stuff it should be fine.

Multiplayer is taken care of already, so we shouldn't have too many problems in that regard. I'm quite proud of my Slig skin choices, The grey one even has a few scars on his back

Meh, I'd play but I need a new graphics card really (It's powerful but a bit broken) and I don't have access to my copy of Quake III since I'm staying in Germany until May and left it behind at my home in the UK.

BTW, my avator comes from a screenshot of the Quake III slig model. :P

Quake III is ridiculously low-spec. I think most computers can probably run it.
I improved the original model by adding new color choices and making the default color yellow, like the games.

Sometimes it can get a bit picky with regards to which version so you might need to re-install.

Right... I guess that means my computer can run it. I just need to get the game now.

Posing problems though. If I do get it's the slig for me.

I'll finish tinkering with the Slig in a few days time, and I'll be able to upload it along with some instructions about installing. The Mudokon Skins are impressive as well

I know that some of us are in America so we should try and organize it for about 8-9PM (GMT+0). If it's ok we can try and get together this Saturday. I'm not sure if I can host so I'll have to test that out before-hand.

If everything is installed correctly, you should be able to find some matches.
Doublecheck to make sure the patch is installed.

There should be some good Oddworld-style maps, if we search for Alien VS Predator maps.
The interiors should be like Vykker's Labs and the Outdoor segments should be like native grasslands, but somewhat alien-esque

Well for now I've finished tinkering with the Slig model. I'll put it in a zip file.
If it's a new installation of Quake III Arena, all you have to do is unzip this and place the models folder into the 'baseq3' folder.

If you already have a models folder, then go into players, and then copy the abe/slig folders into it.

Enjoy! Let's meet up sometime and try them out!

BTW: You can install abe and/or slig models in any order. When you join the server, all models are automatically downloaded to your pc anyway, so no worries.

Also, heres a Merrick skin I made... the armor looks a bit naff but I think it turned out ok.
