Fanmade Creature/Content Competition

This is a great idea by Lacy Hemsmire.

The competition is basically submit your own custom fanmade creature/content with the purpose of going into Oddworld and fitting in well.

The winner gets their creature/content modelled in 3D and brought alive in the UT3 engine which will look beautiful.

This thread is for the art submission only, voting will happen in a seperate topic after closing date of entry.

If you would like to enter post your image(s) in this thread.

Any queries or problems PM me.

Closing Date for entry is Feb 28th 2009.

Keep it creative

Oh and for bonus points from me I'd love it if you drew your creatures/content with varying angles so that modelling it is easy to get it accurate. Like this: Elum or Munch

I've done some Oddworld fan-made creatures previously, so I'll just post this one.
I might even get to drawing him at all angles for reference. This was supposed to be a concept for the next quintology character 'Squeek' but really it could be used for anything I think.

Malloy has asked me to close this thread, so I'm assuming the competition is off. However, I will leave it open and he can post here to explain why he wants it closed since he game me no explanation in the PM.

Um, did you check the date I sent the PM?

It was so people would PM me their entry's, then I could post the pictures in the thread so people could look at them like a Gallery and so that it would'nt get convoluted then people could vote when a poll is posted on Feb 28th.

But we cant lock/unlock our threads so it failed. I was going to put this into effect with your co-operation but i was told by Hobo it was too much effort for Mods to lock/unlock via request :\

Right, firstly you didn't make ir clear in your first post that you wanted submissions only by PM. As it was, if I locked this thread then people would probably have thought the competition had been cancelled.
Secondly you should have PMed me and discussed this before starting the thread.

It seems rather too late to use this thread as you intended now, so I suggest you accept submissions here and put your gallery at the start of the voting thread wgen that comes along.

But there's more to an entry than its appearance. Art is fine and dandy but if there's no details provided about the creature how can one vote? It may be an underpowered or overpowered creature, have ripoff abilities of other creatures/non-OW suited abilities/good skills and stuff.

And the edit sadly means nothing now, as its come too late. People will have read the title and/or the original post, they'll assume its for submissions in general. Besides, its a creation competition, not just an art competition.

Nemesis, please check the FC rules referring to thread necromancy. You could easily have found out if this competition was finished by, for example, checking out the threads made by Malloy to see if he made another relating to this (which, as far as I'm aware, he didn't.)
