Oddworld Scenes and Situations

I have a particular liking for fanart that has more than one character (or perhaps in our case, creature) interacting in some way. It can be as simple as a Mudokon being chased by Paramites or as thought-provoking as a Slig and a Mudokon slave snoozing on a job together, but I like there to be some kind of story or main idea behind the picture.

So, Instead of 'draw x character', how about 'draw this doing this?' I played through AO recently and I'm on my way through AE so I got a few ideas of scenes and situations I wanted to draw.

Anyone who wants to join in or to suggest a situation for me to draw is welcome to =) It'd be cool to try to provide more visual to life on Oddworld if that makes sense.

I'll also illustrate scenes in fanfics.


What would the look on your face be if you could look at yourself through the eyes of someone else?

I got this picture in my head at some point in Paramonia where you can bring a Slig right up to Abe.


I don't have a title for this either but it's called HI2U.jpg I pictured this when I read the FAQ about why, in the earlier games, Sligs can tell that other Sligs are possessed. I also re-found my old 'cute slig' style, so I'm happy about that. It's extremely difficult to portray Slig emotions without breaking the rules, so why not?

...Fanfic illustrations, you say? I'd love to see one based on The Robotic Guard. Maybe about the latest chapter I posted, with Logger breaking into Phyl's room (further details in the thread itself ).

As for your pictures: awesome expressions on the 2nd one. And neat possession orbs on the 1st.

If you're willing to do fanfic stuff, I'd be happy to see any scene from my fic. But particularly where Arthur is choking Lak in the mess hall while a bunch of Sligs and mudoknos look on, or any of the mudokon interactions.

Those pictures are so adorable! I'm always amazed by people who manage to make sligs look cute. That overly-happy "Hi!" slig made me lawl. xD

Also, I was struggling at first with the possession orbs but after awhile I got the simple idea to just dab a blue airbrush and then dab a smaller white airbrush in the middle of that, so that's the secret :P

Sure thing. Here it is.

As a final thought, he wished he had seen the layout of the room beforehand. He didn’t know where the computer was, so it would take a few moments to aim at the intruder, which is quite enough for a counterattack… After taking a last breath, he pushed the opening slider downwards, and the door slid open.

Inside the dimly lit room, Phyl let out a short squeak as he saw the Slig pointing his pistol at him with a shaking hand. A few seconds later, they both recognised eachother. Logger, still shaking a bit, lowered his pistol. "I’m… I’m sorry, Phyl… I thought…" As he looked up at the Vykker, he noticed his hands over the computer’s keyboard, ending in sharp claws… How stupid he was…

"What’s going on, Logger?" asked Phyl, utterly confused.

"I’m sorry… I heard this clattering, and I thought…"

Sure:

Trevor got on with the bandaging, Arthur standing watch. It all was going quite well until another Slig entered the mess hall, and saw what was going on. Trevor suddenly felt a hard crack in his back, and ended up on the floor with a nasty pain in the small of his back, followed by another painful thud and another pain, this time in his shoulder; with the Slig honking in his ear “What do yer think you’re doing, eh mud? Why are you bandaging him? Leave him to it, he’s hurt, he has to sort it out himself. You help him any more, and I’ll clobber yer some more.” The Slig then turned to Arthur
“And why were you allowing it? Leave ‘em to deal with their own problems, that’s what yer should’ve done, mudlover.” The Slig snarled.
Arthur’s reaction was instantaneous: the Slig suddenly found himself on his back across the table with Arthur’s hand fixed around his neck. Even Max, who had moved for the Slig the instant he struck Trevor, was surprised by Arthur and halted, slightly dumbfounded, while Arthur, his face inches away from the other Slig’s spat out: “Listen Lak, that mud ain’t of no use to nobody with a leg like that, so I figured that if he’s fixed up a bit, then he may be able to get on with some work.”

“Not that you’d know much about doing work, what with you sleepin’ all the time.” The Slig, apparently called Lak responded.
Arthur’s grip tightened ever so slightly around Lak’s throat. “You really don’t have any brains at all do yer? Well, lemme try and get it through your thick skull that if he’s in a capable working state, then he can do something useful, which is something you aren’t used to doing is it? Now p**s off before yer start annoying me.” Arthur released his grip and shoved Lak away.
