Pacmud!

Yet another fangame emerges from the people of the oddworld forums but, this one, a little different, and a little more awesome!
I've noticed that there seems to have been a craze here for making oddworld fangames ever since Gamemaker7 came out but everone seems to be making side-scrolling-platform games (in the same style as AO and AE).
But this is different. Pacmud is a game revolved mainly around the ideas of pacman and requires no side-scrolling action or gamespeak to be awsome.

So, that's the introduction, now for a little information on how to play the game.

a little information on how to play the game:
Basicly you use the arrow keys to move your mud around the mazes to collect spooces (they supply points) and avoid enemys (they kill you -duh). After some time a door will open and you will be allowed into the next level.
Also you can pick-up chant orbs which will put enemys into a state much like when the ghosts in pacman are "scared" alowing you to kill them for points by running into them the same way you would a spooce.

Cool! This is awsome.
Edit: Just downloaded the demo. It's even more awsome than I thought. I did spot a few bugs which included that the sligs don't move too well and the mud/sligs get stuck.

the mud/sligs get stuck
I know, I was a little too exited to fix it. Think of it as another one of those bummers you get in demos that are designed to make you want the full version.
You can only get stuck by your hair though so it shouldn't affect you too much...

I was ganna make it slightly different but I've never actually played an original pacman game so I don't quite know what to change.
The game's still in development so it's open for suggestions.

Hey I have an idea.

Know Tower Defense games??

If you have the skills, you could make an Oddworld Tower defense games. Bring some elements from Hand of Odd in it That would be slightly more original. If you need help with sprites, I'm more than happy to make some. I'm good with sprites.

I ment suggestions for Pacmud but thats not a bad idea. Although there would be certain complications like towers automaticly being able to attack everything in range and all towers of the same sort beign upgraded at once. After I've finished Pacmud I'd like to give that a go (Though I'm not sure what hand of odd is)

I'm going to name my favourite thing on this game: The ending sound of Abe falling is priceless. Add the letters with a mudokon sitting in it and you have a scene only Carnix could create.

Try not to start worshipping me, that didn't help Alienmagi very much.

As for the sligs, I'm afraid it is impossible to make them head through the maze toward the mud so I've just set them to randomly change the direction they are going whenever they hit a wall.
Not to worry though, It seems to work rather well.

I like it very much, and I thought it was very clever how the chanting sound began and you could "eat" the Sligs.

Glad you all like it.

I'm starting level 3 now and on that level I'm ganna have some flying sligs appear (don't worry they only go very faster...) and then some time after that (level 5 or 6 maybe) I intend to start including scrabs and paramites but (no offense Arxryl) I don't think that Arxryls scrab and paramite sprites are as good as the other sprites he's done so I'm looking for someone to try again and make some good looking sprites of scrabs and paramites to be used in Pacmud. Any takers?

Oh ,yeh. You will of course get credit.

BTW the games at the point now where I can't continue without the above listed sprites (mainly slog).

people have already made sum paramite slogs and scrab spries based around arxryls work
