Music Games Thread

I haven't seen any threads on this topic yet, so I thought I'd be the first to start.

Feel free to have any discussions about music games such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Dance Dance Revolution, etc...

Pretty much anything can go here, whether it is simple talk, achievements, stories, and maybe even songs you'd like to see in future music games.

It's rather pointless to start a thread for discussion on a topic without actually expressing an opinion yourself in the opening post. Consider yourself lucky that I'm not deleting this out of spite.

I like electroplankton!

I don't like guitar hero, but I like DDR. When I was a chubby child I could play it on expert, but now that I'm an averagely weighted old lady I can hardly play it on easy.

Electroplankton FTW.

I honestly don't think I've bothered with any others, other then "Fluid" on PSX, which was just strange.

Yeah pretty much. If you don't like the gimmick first time round you should probably get Animal Crossing for something with actual substance.

I had lots of fun on the one that manipulates a sample recorded through a microphone

I LOVE ELECTROPLANKTON! I ordered mine from Japan and got the one with the headphones. I LOVE IT!

I used to play Parappa a lot on the playstation. Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Edit: I wasn't the the first to post that line from Parappa. Now, I'm just a poseur. Damn it.

Someone explain Parappa to me. I get the cult appeal of the characters and so forth, but the gameplay was never able to grab me.

Ooo, I played Guitar hero at a friends place, pretty neat. Though I was useless and missed half the damn key things and screwed the song up. It was very enjoyable though.

I love Guitar Hero, I find it so addictive. Rock Band looks pretty awesome, too bad it's only on the 360.

The things I teach ya, will surely beatcha,
Nevertheless to get a lesson from teacher,
Now kick!

That's how I remember it anyway. Only had the demo, but played it over and over. Man I miss the days when demos were good.

What are you talking about? It came out for every next-gen console.

It even came out for the ps2.

I know a good PC music game.
Probably like guitar hero. It's called Frets On Fire.
You hold your keyboard like a guitar and play on it.
It's super cool. You can download it from Google.
BTW when you download it you first have just 3 musics to play.
But you can download more, A lot more.

Anyone played Space Channel 5? I'm in love with it.

On a side note, I just found a new game released for the PS2 four years ago as a sequel to Vib Ribbon called Vib Ripple, Atusi.
