Should die by having 10,000 cigarettes put out on every part of their body.
Man, I've spent like 50 hours the past month cleaning up fucking cigarette butts and I'm about to go insane. The worst thing about it all, aside from having to fucking police call gallon bag upon gallon bag worth of cigarettes instead of learn my language so I can get more money and rank? On our breaks all the people who clean up with me take smoke breaks.
Jesus Christ, if it weren't for Thanksgiving break getting me out of police call I'd shiv smokers just on the principle of it all.

A coworker of mine (OH YA I GOT A JAWB AT A&W GUISE) told me that someone was smoking in the restaurant (non smoking place, it was) and the guy came in dily stinking the place up, so eventually he put out some cigarettes in the guys food and told him he was banned.

That guy was voted employee of the month.

In what country? If someone litters the place up around here and gets caught, you get a ticket and a polite request to clean it up. The day the police starts going around town with a garbage bag in one hand and a garbage picker in the other is the day I do not want to join the police force anymore.

I'm still surprised smoking hasn't been banned altogether. Thank God hospitals don't treat smokers anymore, I want my effing tax (when I start paying it) to be used for something...useful. Not that it will likely be for anything remotely useful anyway, but, there you go. That's society for you.

Transplants people. It is more difficult to get a lung transplant if you are a smoker, or you have a heart disease (I suppose they want some assurance you won't die anytime soon and waste that lung).

When I said cops were janitors with guns, what I was trying to say was that all they do is spend their time cleaning up other peoples messes. Emotional or violent, a mess is a mess.

I'm not sure that this is exactly what he meant as he was talking about his tax money being wasted. Anyhow, yes. Smokers would be put much further back on the waiting list to get a new lung. They would still be on the list, though.

Society as a whole is not nearly as dependant upon tobacco as it is on alcohol. It could be weaned off tobacco (as much as it has from any illegal drug, at least). But it is hopelessly addicted to alcohol.

These sound like the words of someone that's never tried to quit smoking.

The point I was trying to make about prohibition was that the 'naughty' factor of alcohol being illegal actually led more people to drink. Making tobacco and illegal substance would mean that people would still throw their butts on the ground...They'd just do it secretly.

But while we're banning things that are bad, let's get rid of fast food, television, nuclear power and gays. Gays are the w o r s t!

Although tobacco lacks a crystal meth-esque rush, many addicts, when given the choice between giving up a substance or working a little harder to get their hands on it, will usually go the extra mile.

I wasn't saying that secret tobacco clubs would form in small businesses after hours. What I was saying is that for some, the allure of taking part in an illegal activity is too great to resist.

True, but in a generation there won't be many new addicts as people won't see it worth the effort of committing a crime.
