TimeShift

Has anyone messed with the new game TimeShift yet?
Rented it from Blockbuster this week, not great but still fun.
Rather like Halo, but with some interesting twists.
The player can slow, stop or reverse time during game play.
Graphics are on par with Bioshock, sound excellent also.
Major cool weapons and weapon effect,
'blow`s them up real good"
Very linear , should be played on higher difficulty level to be challenging.
Problems: very annoying videos during play, and so wanted to put a couple of
rounds in the head of the rebel commander, he is such a dick.
All in all good rental but not a keeper IMO.

Oh, and if you think the ending of Bioshock sucked wait till you see this one.

I've only played the demo and my impression of the game isn't great. When I read about controlling time I pictured something like being able to do so anywhere you like. While this is true to some degree, the game insists you use the different time editing features in certain areas of the game which can get quite annoying. I kinda hoped you'd run into puzzles ala Half Life or Portal and had to use the time aspect to get past it. Not the case.
Also the story, as far as I know, isn't very much to look at. You work in some lab, put on the suit and OMG the suit fails and your trapped in time. How cliche.

I might download it sometime, but it's definitely not worth my money.

I don't think that was the story.

Apparently, there were 2 suits, the experimental Beta suit, and the prototype Alpha suit. Some scientist named Crone (or Krone, whatever) stole the Alpha suit, and went back in time to reshape the future. Now, the player has to use the only other Timesuit, the Beta suit, to try and stop Crone.

looks quite good.

I loved the demo and i think this game is far better than i could have been after the company re-did the entire game from scratch in about a year

I have not seen the demo, so have no idea what they have you do, or what weapons you can use.

In the game, things don`t get rolling till about half way through the first mission, and you don`t get access to the heavy duty weapons for the first third of the game.

Actually there are a number of "puzzles ala Half Life " to contend with and the player
can override the suit`s choice action anytime they want, however this usually
leading to a tragic and gory end.
A run and timed jump is required in many places, problem is that this sorry-ass can hardly jump over a piece of toast, and runs like your granny, so he needs a little help.

To counter the Beta suit`s advantage the player is ALWAYS heavily out numbered by baddies who can see for about a mile. The AI is set up so that if the player tries to hunker down he will be flanked and surrounded in a heartbeat, thus taking fire from four or five directions at once, ouch!

Mojo has the story pretty much nailed, although if you need a strong storyline
this may not be the game for you.

Since i rented the game, only had 5 days to finish it, played it at the lowest of three difficulty levels and it was fairly easy. This said, i think that at the higher levels one will be reloading a boatload of times.

The game has auto-save points but you can save at any time too, do it often as it makes life in the parallel time stream so much easier.
