What should a sig be?

With this poll, i want to find out why we have sigs, what should be on them, and what they are for.

if im right, you needed to select other for the puepose of advertising. If that is so then your signature is not a sig at all, it's and advetisment.
But still, the idea of a poll is to see other people's views, so i guess it would have been wise to have an 'other' option (though that wouldnt shows me their views it would just show me that they disagree with the other views)

First of all, this thread either belongs in forum Forum Help and Suggestions or the Necrum Burial Mounds.

Secondly, sig (short for signatures) are just little images that you create that, indeed, decribe you or can make you look like the Crap King.

You've clearly installed you signature. I'm not sure what your problem is.

And figure out which forum is the right one to post threads in. This is starting to get annoying.

It seems to me that you think that i am asking what i should put on my sig. If this is true you are mistaken. I am simply finding out what other people think that a sig should be in general, not what my sig should be. In which case i believe i have posted this poll in the correct section.

If you have a picture in your sig, I simply pass over it. However, quoting another member in a sig is totally, unforgivably lame.

Disagree. I suppose that's why Peter still calls them Signatures in your User CP. But, call it what you want, as long as someone can understand it.

I think that a sig should in a way, represent who you are, and in some cases, your artistic talent/taste.

Arxryl, I agree with you. Sigs should define you. Most of us remember Hobo's old habit of stealing the sigs of other people who were gone from the forum for a while. How did those sigs describe him. A n00b? A hero? A Hobo?

Well, I remember one Bullet Magnet gave made me a sig, it was excellent, so I think a sig should be something you want people to appreciate, so maybe not a joke, but something livid and creative.

once you've uploaded your sigpic you have to type (or paste) the folowing into the place where you typed the sig you have now.

[ S I G P I C ] [ / S I G P I C ]

(but without spaces)

where you type this will be where it apears on your post
