Oddworld Food Flavours!

If rupture farms was real, and there were scrab cakes, paramite pies, and mudokon pops were in it (which i am still worried if the next game still wants abe as an ingredient to make mudokon pops o_o), what would it taste like?

I think paramite pie would taste like hand nails, while the scrab cake might taste like green meat x.x. Also, i think mudokons would taste like native brains. x.x

one question, if all of those foods in the two oddworld games (i aint includin munch because i dont know what food they contain.) existed, what would the Scrab Cake, Paramite Pie, Mudokon Pop, and Brew taste like?

Scrab cakes would taste sweet. By the looks of the posters of them, they have something inside them, it looks like something gooey, so it would probably be blended Scrab or blood.

Paramite Pies would taste like meat pie, and there would probably be gravy inside.

Mudokons Pops would just taste like normal popsicles, with a hint of Mudokon.

And I'd assume the brew would taste like some type of alcohol like Vodka.

I always wanted to try Oddworldian foods.

I'm not particularly fond of Mudokon but okay... I'd take the usual ingredients. Anything that makes a real brew, without them, the brew wouldn't have it's addictiveness.

Soulstorm Brew does contain tears and bones, but not the other two. The eyeballs could be confusion with the tears aspect, and the 'Glukkon spew' from the slogan "Our spew is yours brew!", but I highly doubt that's a literal idea.

Scrab Cakes: Similar to beef like that from those specially bred cows which are basically all muscle (forget what they're called) for the actual meat part, though it's probably watered down a bit and got sugars, perservatives and stuff in there affecting the flavour.

Paramite Pies: Usual pie dough, though a different taste expected as the dough is likely made from a different type of grain than to Earth's. The meat part is probably similar to perhaps dog or Scrab meat, having a less dry taste than Scrab. It wouldn't be as lean either. Also, factoring in sugars, preservatives etc., though less likely needed as in Scrab cakes as Paramite pies are rpesumably cooked before eating.

Elum Chubs: Similar taste to horse or donkey meat, perhaps like beef, but much more tender than that from Scrab. More fat than in either Scrab or Paramites flesh. Again, less preservatives etc. due to need to cook before eating.

Meech Munchies: More like shellfish than the others, as more calcium is probably present in flesh as it is needed to grow the tough scales on the Meech's back. Very stringy, I'd imagine. Not sure what a 'munchie' can be compared to in real life foods.

Soulstorm Brew: Alcohol would have a slightly different taste to Earth's, as again based on different plant matter. The powdered bone may give a dry taste, and/or enrich the base flavours. The tears would give a salty taste to it, as well as prevent bitterness from the bones and add alot of the fluid to the drink, as well as water. If not alcohol from plants, the bone could perhaps be giving a similar effect somehow, through chemical composition, Mudokon spirituality or the way it is processed (maybe since Mudokons are natural and things apparently rot faster in Oddworld, maybe it is more plausible to attempt the ferment the bones by soaking them in a liquid, perhaps water or the Mudokon tears).

Hm, that's a good one. Since I've never had Paramite or Scrab before I can't really speak for the Paramite Pies / Scrab Cakes, but I do imagine they'd just taste like meat of some kind, not necessarily fingernails or "green meat" (if such a thing existed). And then of course it'd depend on the body parts that went into the product. A Scrab liver, for instance, might taste different from a Scrab sirloin, and so on.
And I doubt Mudokons would taste like native brains unless it was actually the brains you were eating. As for what they would taste like, I'll bet something pretty close to a human, as the two creatures are similar in so many ways anyway. So I dunno.

About SoulStorm brew, I do not know nor care to know. I don't think anything made from anyone's bones or tears would especially appeal to me. On the logical aspects of the thing, though, I agree with Zerox.

I think Scrab Cakes would taste like one of those super-ultra-extra-sweet candies, with blended Scrab or blood for flavour. They look to me like they would be one of those candies with so much fake sweetner in it that just looking at it makes me want to puke.

Paramite Pies would probably me more my thing, like steak and kidney pie, only probably with much more obscure parts of the creature, like intestines, lungs, brains, bowels and Odd knows what else. And it'd probably be extra-gloopy too (with more gravy than meat, yuck).

Elum Chubs... well I have no idea what a chub is, apart from the fish, but i'm assuming it's a sausage or meatloaf of some kind. I think that would taste similar to camel, since that's what Elums appear to most resemble to me. So yeah, meatloaf with Elum meat in it.

SoulStorm Brew would most likely have a rather salty taste from the Mudokon tears as Zerox said, and the bones seem to be a very important component, probably the stuff that ferments and makes the addictive alchohol (I remember Director Phleg crying "No bones, no brew!"). Probably a few other things thrown in there for flavour, such as various fruit juices etc.

Mudokon Pops would probably be sweet and meaty like the Scrab cakes, sort of like blended meat turned into ice cream. I don't think Mudokons are very similar to Humans at all, seeing as Mudokons evolved from bird-like creatures and Humans evolved from mammals. But Humans do actually taste like pork, according to something I found on the internet. Anyway back on topic, it looks from the ending of AO that they blend and cook the living Mudokon whole in the blending process *is making reference to the scary saws and fire Abe was hanging over*.

Green meat would probably be old and mouldy meat, the mould making appear green, if that's what AbeX300 means. That'd probably be the filling of the Scab Cakes.

And no, green eggs and ham do not exist in the real concievable world. >.>

Why does everyone assume scrab cakes to be sweet? Fish cakes aren't, and I always assumed the name to come from that sort of dish. I mean, what was the last meat-based dessert you had?

You never know BM. But if you look at the top of a picture of a Scrab cake, you'll see a line of what looks like icing. This could either be blood from a Scrab, or some sort of sugary sweetener, like Marvak said.

I highly doubt it would be Scrab spew. Sick has lots of toxins in and I expect more from a Scrab. It would probably kill Muds if they ate Scrab sick, and it's not the case as lots of Mudokons like eating Scrab cakes.

I don't think Scrabs lay eggs. And a yolk could never go like that. Yolks tend to be gooey and liquidy. Yet the stuff iced on top of a scrab cake looks hard and stuck on.
