Oddworld How do Glukkons get Dressed?

I was wondering, just how do Glukkons manage to dress themselves seeing as they have to use their arms to stand up, they can't use them

I imagine it’s Sligs that dress them. All the ego boosting of having a slave cater to your every need, and no getting involved with horrible machinery.

In the future, Director Phleg_47, you can use the Questions & Answers thread to ask little questions like these. That’s what it’s for.

Yes thats a good reason, as Glukkons DO have very large egos...they put their faces every where and stuff Oh and Jordon, you had the FIRST slig reason...good going

I was thinking more along the lines of a unique glukkon suit despensor. A glukkon walks over to a lever tells a nearby slig to pull it and a large pipe or tube comes down out of the cieling sort of like a massive probe. It spits out a glukkon suit according to the glukkon's choice of color and the suit falls onto the glukkon and whamo! the glukkon is dressed. Think of it like a big assembly line where gluks are going to work and waiting to get dressed or processed. Thats sounds very Oddworld like to me. Neet concept I a came up with.

Paramiteabe...

Haha. That's a good question!

I also think they use sligs for it (poor guys). But I wonder what glukkons did when they didn't meet the sligs yet... running around nacked?

Maybe the glukkons have got clothes you can close from the inside.... like a zipper on backwards. They actually do have arms and hands, I think, even they stand on them all the time. One of their hands they could use to dress themself (and the other hand to stand on the ground).

I don't think it could be Sligs. most Gluks, yes, but poor puds or Gluks at Lulu's level cannot afford Sligs, yet STILL manage to get dressed. Stranger's maid, you say they may have zips or whatever inside, but they DO have buttons on the outside, which we can evidently see.

Maybe some sort of teleportation device? Since in the games, Sligs have their pants teleported to them, maybe Gluks would use a similar system? Though whether this is emrely for easiness of prgramming or whatever in the game is left to question.

Are the vestigial legs moveable at all? I think I read something about Glukkons clapping with them, maybe they could be used in getting dressed somehow too.

The same way Sligs do. Via a machine.

Wired well mebbe.....

well i figured that the lower ranking glukkons dress themselves....i mean what they wear isn't all that flash. And they do walk on their arms....so whose to say they don't just sit on their bed and use their arms then..... and as the gluks rise up in the ranks and their threads get flashier.... they require more help in decking out. So in this instance i agree with Fuzzle Guy... theres a machine that dresses 'em.... but the lower Gluks can't afford this tech.

i think glukkons had arms years ago. powerful arms to build stuff nd dominate ppl. once they had evryone enslaved nd machines built to do stuff, they grew past the need for arms.

...so ya, machines

I believe they never had arms in the past, but rather tentacle like arms. We can see that they had such in the past, as they still have suction cups today.

Although, I do believe they had some sort of holding digits, as they would need such to form research for making their hands similar to Mudokons.

Glukkons are clearly vertebrates, as their recent ancestors would have been. They may be descended from octopus-like creatures, but not as we know them. These octopi would have had a skeletal structure.

squids with vertebrates?! wat u talkin bout willis?? (been waiting all day to say that) but more recently could there have been a glukkon stage where they had arms and legs equal in strength/length?

Their vestigial legs are evidence of an ancestral form in which those limbs had form and function.

It could be possible that the Glukkons had use to have merely arms that either used for walking or ways that arms would be used. Sort of like a spider. A little like the Oktigi 0.1 that were displayed in the conception art of the Octigi family. This would step aside the fact that Glukkons use to have both purpousiful legs and arms.

The other possibility is that Glukkons use to be orangatange like species, with large arms that moved the body and legs that served for holding purposes.
