No sounds in game

WOW.. Bump!

I have the exact same problem, it used to work fine but I started the game today and the background music and abe's chanting sound are gone!

Well, at the time (ALMOST 5 YEARS AGO!) I found out that I had a crappy install, because when I installed it again, everything was normal again. I have to admit that I used an illegal copy :$.

Anyways, nice to see SOME people actually use the search button

I heard an issue like that, before, but I thought it was only because his version was downloaded from the internet...

But in this case. I think that happened to me once. With the fans, yes.

Just in case anyone still needs help with this:

The PC version of AE often gets corrupted when installed on anything higher then an XP platform. You can download fixes for this problem, but with these fixes a new problem arises which is that Aslik freezes up when you eventualy get to him in the Feeco Depot, meaning you can't proceed in the game. There's only 2 known files out there that fix THAT problem and keep the game running, but those files are qualified as BETA's and note that some sounds are missing or don't stop playing sometimes.

So chances are that if your game does contain all the sounds, Aslik freezes up. And if it doesn't, he doesn't freeze up. But it's different for each install I guess. The file which fixes Aslik but has missing sounds, for anyone needing it, can be found here. Just extract the .exe over the original (or make a backup first) and your good to go.

Hope this helps anyone now or in the future.
