Emil's Beginning

I realize that the title is getting old, but that's what it is. Here's part two of my story chain.

They were an odd group. There were about five or six of every sentient species on Oddworld. These, however, were different. They had established a hidden wildlife preserve that had many things, from Scrabs to Fleeches. There was one animal that they could not keep. The name used was Horrilizard, but everyone called them Demon Lizards. They came in all shapes and sizes, but only two possible colors: red and black. They also only had two eye colors: red and blue. Managing the preserve was tricky. The Glukkons, Sligs, and Vykkers all led undercover lives. They would act like any industrial member of their species, but as soon as their workday was through, they suddenly went from industrialists to environmentalists. They always felt horrible when they had to slaughter an animal for whatever company they "worked" in. But, for every animal they had to kill, they saved ten by earning money for food. Aside from money, they did this for knowledge. But one day, a wandering Slig stumbled upon the preserve. He ran to tell his boss, who spread the word. Soon, every industry knew, and they weren't happy about it. The team, however, was nonviolent. They never fought back, until, after a particularly nasty Flying Slig attack, they realized that they needed a guard. The Sligs had guns, but were afraid to fight because of their naturally submissive nature that was shared by all Sligs. Without a leader, they became cowardly and insecure. Sligs, though submissive, were extremely adaptable. One of the Vykkers suggested creating a hybrid Slig. One of the few types of animals that they had left was Royalsea, a whale-like aquatic mammal that worked well in a school as well as alone. They didn't like the idea of violence, but they had no choice.

Oops. I'm out of time. I'll post again as soon as I can. Feel free to reply at any time you wish.

Okay, here's chapter two. Sorry, I couldn't post this as a continuation of chapter one.

Three years later, Emil, the hybrid Slig walked around the perimeter. He was actually a little handsome, for a Slig. He was dark orange, with a white chest. His feeding tentacles were bright pink. He had a white dorsal fin that looked kind of like a goldfish's. Around the dorsal fin was a jagged black spot. His arms were white with black spots. He had an ivory horn growing from his forehead. The only two things that had any Slig in them at all were his body and his red eyes. He loved the preserve, and looked up to the other Sligs as parents. He was almost halfway around the preserve, when he heard cries for help. He also heard a helicopter-like sound. He knew that could only mean one thing: Flying Sligs! He started to run towards the sound, but an explosion blew him back. He leapt up, and continued running. He was too late. The main building was just splinters now, with no sign of the others. Emil noticed that all the animals had escaped. He looked up, and saw the Flying Slig hovering over him. Emil tried to think of something to say, but all he could say was, "Why?" The Flying Slig laughed, and prepared to fire a bomb. Emil ran as fast and as far as he could, grateful that pants could go for miles before running out of fuel.

Well, that's Chapter Two. Please tell me what you think, and please be honest. The next chapter will be better, I swear!

*flies in arch, then lands* (If you don't know about this, then look in the Off-Topic section.) Okay, okay. I said that this chapter would be better, so here it is.

Emil had been living in the wild for seven years now. He had found an oil well, and that was the only fuel source for his pants. It was drying up, however. Even though he was ten, and half of his lifespan was over, he was stronger than he had ever been. He was mashing fruit into a puree, trying something new, when he heard a noise. THUMP! THUMP! It was getting closer. It started to rain, washing his food away. "Oh, great. Now what am I going to ea-" He stopped mid-word as he heard a crunching sound. A flash of lightning illuminated the landscape. Emil was amazed at what he saw in front of him. A bush had been completely flattened. That's when he turned his attention to a puddle of water next to him. With each footfall, it rippled. (Okay, okay, I know that's not original, but with the size and weight of what's approaching, it actually would ripple.) A Horrilizard stomped over to him. Its neck was at least ten feet long. Without the neck, it was fifteen feet high. Its legs were nine feet tall, and its arms were four feet long. It balanced itself with a five foot tail. It was solid ebony in color. Its pupil-less eyes glowed a menacing blue. It lowered its head to Emil's level, and glared at him. Now Emil knew why others called them "Demon Lizards". This hulking black figure in front of him with gleaming yellow fangs as long as he was tall truly looked like a demon. It sniffed him, then reared back and snapped. Emil did the only thing he could think of doing. He ran. He was so scared that he even forgot about his gun. He couldn't ignore the thundering footsteps behind him. He noticed that he was slowing down. "Oh, great," he thought. "Now I'm running out of fuel. What next?" Emil tripped over a rock, no longer able to lift the pants' leg to maximum height. As he fell, he accidentally loosened his pants. As he tumbled down the cliff, the pants fell off and tumbled down behind him. He hit his head on a rock and blacked out. The last thing he could remember thinking before he became unconsious was, "I'm doomed."

Well, that's it for this chapter. So, was it better? Let me know. *flies away*

*stretches wings* Oh, good. A reply. Yeah, I know. I was kind of tired when I wrote the first two chapters. Here's the third.

When Emil woke up, he was... fine. The only injury was a long, pink scratch, easily visible on his white chest. Why didn't the Horrilizard eat him? How odd. As his senses cleared, he realized that he was thirsty. He decided to take his chances with the river a couple of yards ahead. He dipped his tentacles into the water. It was cool and refreshing to his parched throat. It was then that he looked around. He didn't know where he was, let alone where the oil well was relatively. He did know of a plant that produced sap that was oil-like in quality. Emil noticed that the plant was only a couple of feet away. He awkwardly dragged his pants over to the plant, and picked two leaves. He squeezed the thick leaves, and soon he had emptied the sap into the fuel container. Emil was surprised to find that, not only did they work, but they operated silently. After walking for a few hours, he learned that the sap burned very slowly. The fuel level hadn't even been lowered by an eighth. Emil was about to gather food, when the Horrilizard came crashing through the trees.

Emil got ready to run. Then, he saw that the Horrilizard wasn't moving. He noticed a boulder just... floating in the air. It suddenly smashed into the lizard. It shook its head and then retreated when another boulder rose into the air. A very odd Mudokon approached him, saying, "Are you all right?"

End of story two

And the combining starts... If you haven't read the first story, Wilfred's Beginning, then stories five and up will be pretty confusing. What do you think?
