Hey all, who said I was going? I just wasn’t sure I’d be able to get online for the first four days or so. Magically, it’s all now sorted and I’m back to work on OWF and TOL.

I thought they would at least have a libary at your university so that
you could take free time not spent studying to visit and moderate the forums.

That's why a closed campus is nice. Everything is on one big piece of land.. You'll find everything fairly easily. Unless you're me, who got lost going from my dorm to the building right next to it.

I’m studying Environmental Science, which is cool enough in and of itself, but it has some pretty spunky perks.

For one thing, it has dangerously few students. There’re only about a dozen of us, which is just perfect for me. They all seem rather nice people, too. No pretty boys, but that’s what the LGB society is for, right?

Even better, because it’s so small, our tutor has been brought in specifically to make it more popular—which is to say we’re being given loads of perks like our own common room in order that we’ll bond a lot and make the course seem really cool.

Must remember to join the Swing Dance society…

A word of caution though: LGB societies only actually have the same percentage of individual attractiveness as the general population. It's just that the attractive people are really attractive. But the creepy ones are freaking disturbing. Remind me to tell you about the guy with the machete sometime.

I found the stall for the LGB society at the societies fair. There were two boys generally stroking each other’s hair and swapping email addresses. I stood and hovered, but they weren’t giving me any information, so I went off. Do they want people to join or not?

Maybe I should have pointed and gone “Urgh!”

Or did what I did first time I approached a stall, which was to sign my name and email address on a piece of paper then run off before anyone could see me...

There's one in the other college in my town. It's the "Lesbian, gay, bi & trans-gender group". But instead of signing up at a stall, you get sent an email [everyone does] welcoming you to come to a meet and you sign up by replying the the email

There isn’t actually an LGB society at Sheffield uni, there’s just a lounge where you can go and hang out. I walked past it while I was searching desperately for the music rehersal room (which was tucked away in the shadows and almost unnoticeable), and it looked about big enough to be used as a cupboard.

Which adds to confusion over what the stand was doing there.
