There are some sacred cows that if you openly and honestly give valid criticism of people turn you into a social leper. This is the place to cut loose and vent on all the things you're not allowed to vent about in polite society.
The Music:
Jimi Hendrix: Self taught and it shows. Loose play and very little technicality. He's a decent everything so even though he's really an 8 singer, writer, and player it comes out to 9. He simply doesn't deserve all the accolades he's been given, especially the uncountable number 1 and top 5 placements in the most divisive culture question of all time: Who is the best guitarist? He's the layman's answer to the question even though they couldn't name the band he played for, 3 albums by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, 5 songs, or 1 other band member. He's not a god, people, he's just the Dave Mustaine of psychadelia.
Slayer: Come on, barely servicable lead play and bass work at best and lyrics that are rarely meaningful. When they do make a point in a song like Dittohead or Chemical Warfare it just shows how much potential and intelligence they wasted. They haven't put out a must purchase since Seasons in the Abyss which came out nearly 16 years ago. They also have lost their hunger as they tour rarely and only put out an album every 4 years. The laziest brand name metal act bar none, perhaps laziest metal act period. Oh, and Reign of Blood isn't even the best Slayer album, much less best thrash or speed metal album. If Hanneman, King, or Araya could play half as good as Lombardo or Bostaph they would be one of the all time greats. But seeing as they aren't Slayer is nothing more than a hugely overrated sacred cow.

I feel the same way about Jimi Hendrix I never thought he was that great either I feel that Roger Waters was a better gurtarist seriously

Women's Anything.
Come on, does anybody really care about the WNBA or WPGA or the NCAAW or basically anything with a W in it sportswise? Hmm, less athletic people playing a slower, lower scoring game, who thought there was going to be a market for that? Its really terrible to see scrolling scores and do a fist pump because Indiana or Minnesota won only to think "Wait a minute, 75-73?" and look to the left and see that it was the WNBA. Want to see how hated and lowly women's programs are? Ask a sports nut if they'd rather have the analogous women's team win every game and take the championship or the men's team sweep their most hated rival. Rival sweep every time, no contest.
The Olympics: Boring sports that either take forever like the marathon or cross country or sports like speed skating or sprinting that if you blink you miss it. It takes over television forever and in return you get crap like the discus and luging on tape delay. Because nothing says entertainment like knowing the winner of the contest as you're watching it!

Donnie Darko wasn't that great. You can't just throw in a bunch of pseudo-psychology/quantum physics/whatever and expect a good movie. Yeah, some of the stuff is interesting, but everything else bordered on a pretentiousness that could rival "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Oh yeah, and it totally ripped its ending from Serial Experiments Lain.

You know what really grinds my gears?

Nothing big, really. Just small stuff. For example, this past September I was at a ska concert, and there was a reasonable amount of skanking and intense dancing going on. One kid in an orange shirt decided to be a smelly scumbag and not take a shower or wear deoderant. I had to leave the pit because that kid reeked so bad. And in this past month I saw him at another concert.

Wearing the same shirt. What a stinky bastard.

So yeah, people who smell like shit in public places piss me off.

I disagree. You might not like the Grateful Dead(I do) but calling Garcia a poor player is crap. Overrated you might have an argument but when was the last time you were in a conversation and his praises were sung?
Boycotting Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart is doing huge business, they make more money than a whole fistful of 2nd and 3rd world nations so those boycotts are really doing a whole lot, hey? Never mind that all the other companies like Shopko, Target and J.C. Penny are sweatshop loving union busting pricks just like the malevolent Wal-Mart, boycotting Wal Mart makes you feel like a Moral Man(TM). And if you pop into Wal Mart to buy a few things, so what right? Every boycotter of Wal Mart that I've ever known is guilty of this. I've managed to boycott many companies like Taco Bell, Wendies(after food poisoning), Best Buy, Toys 'R Us, and Dick's Sporting Goods for YEARS, most of these pussies boycotting Wal-Mart can't go a month.

Dude, they underpay their employees, a LOT.

As for boycotting, I find it asinine to do it individually. I like the whole "power of one" speech, but this is the real world. You need masses of people boycotting the same thing at once for it to be affective.

I don't boycott say, Dick's Sporting Goods because I know it'll hurt their bottom line. They treat Minnesota products like crap and their employees know positively jack about sports so I don't buy from them. But boycotters of Wal Mart act like fist pumping revolutionaries who're sticking it to "The Man" when they're just hypocritical clowns.

Hendrix like Mustaine isn't that good of a singer, in fact some people hate the way both Hendrix and Mustaine sing. But it does fit the music. Its not bad but it isn't great, its middle of the road to above average.
The songwriting is the same thing to me. Mustaine usually writes violent music and relies on the political rantings as a crutch, though he does have some more intelligent stuff. Hendrix is the same way to me, his lyrics and playstyle are usually very depressing and down in the dumps. So they're both okay writers and lyricists, though they do have some things that they fall back on when strapped for ideas(relationship problems and "bluesy" things for Jimi, over the top political ranting and ultraviolent songs for Mustaine). They both are like 8-9 in the playing range. There certainly is better out there but not often. For me they're both "sum of the whole is greater than the parts" type of musicians. On their own they aren't truly that great in any capacity, but put all their skills together and back them with other good players and they're great.
