Zappflies Only.

Just last night, I beat another game of Stranger's Wrath. It took me about 2 days, for the whole thing, except this time... I Only used Zappflies. Of course, I was only able to use "Zappflies Only" up until after the Depantsing scene, becuse after that, the Grubbs automatically give you other Ammo. I could have just not used them, but once they are in your inventory, they are counted as "Being used".


I got EVERY Outlaw Alive... out of the Bosses, that is.
And surprisingly, the Bosses are sometimes easier to get Alive, becuase all you have is Zappflies. If you had other Ammo, you would be using that instead, and most of the other Critters don't help much with taking in Outlaws Alive. They are usually used for just taking away major amounts of Health, were as a charged up Zappfly or 2 or 3, can already put one Star on an Outlaw.


This is a very fun way to beat the game, but when fighting (Or just walking around), it can get annoying when you pick up another Critter, and have to go Load your last savepoint.


I have some proof of me beating the game with only Zappflies, and also, that I got every Outlaw Alive (Well, you can only see the New Yolk City Outlaw menu, but trust, me. I got 'em all Alive.). See, if you look at the first picture, that is Lefty. He is knocked out, as you can see from the 2 stars above him. And the second picture is of a Bounty Menu. You can see that I got them Alive. Then, the third picture is right befor the Depantsing scene. You can see Doc in the upper right corner.


So, have any of you done this before? If not, you should try it. It's heaps of fun!

No, I didn't. That would have been difficult.

You know how the Grubbs give you Ammo, and you can't do a thing about it? I could not use other Ammo, other than the Zappflies, from that point and on, but it's in your inventory, so it's much different than not even picking them up.

I think that I should load that file, though. From right before the Depantsing scene, and just let them give me Ammo, but just not use it. Just use the Zappflies after that and ignore the rest.

How dis you beat Packrat, with or without other ammo? I always get his shield down, get him off the platform with fuzzles and then knock him out with Thudslugs and zappflies (the magic boss combo). I have always suspected that this is not the normal way to do it, but I've never managed it any other way.

Bullet Magnet, even when I am playing normally, I don't use that combo. My absolute forvorite combo is Stingbees & Zappflies, and I use it with just about every boss.


What I did with Packrat (And he was one of the hardest to do with just Zappflies), was keep powering down his generator, taking away the shield, and then blast his with continuous Zappflies...meaning the first one will be charged, and the rest won't be. Eventually he comes down to "Get close and personal", and by this time he has about 1/4 of his health drained. Then all you do is lure him away fomr his doors and "stage", and bomb him with Charged Zappflies.






Xav, last night I loaded the file of right after the Depantsing scene, and tried it with only Zappflies....WOW. It's not easy, being all in the Wolvark territory, and only using Zappflies.

I must have died 4 or 5 times just getting to and past the part where you fend off the Wolvarks from the Village.


I almost got to Last Legs last night, but it was very difficult.

In reading this cullen, is this a glitch in the game? looking at your purdy pictures makes it impossible to have no other ammo other than zappaflies at that point in the game

No, Ninjaxe. It's not a glitch. I did exactly what Xav said, and then if I accidently collected one, loaded to the point to where I last Quicksaved, or jusr commited suicide.
