My fanfic
Abe’s eyes scanned the desert around him; seeing a beautiful land reduced to nothing more than a dustbowl. The wind slowly blew, with huge sheets of dust billowing across the landscape. Huge cracks in the ground jutted out, with small creatures climbing from them. Dried up trees, which once bore fruit, cracked under the extreme heat. Bending down, Abe carefully cupped a handful of sand and slowly let it fall out of his fingers.
“Woah…what happened here?” asked Alf, who searched the sky as if waiting for it to answer him. Munch slowly jumped a few feet toward some dried up ferns, which started to blow away into nothingness.
“Oh….” Munch groaned. Abe slowly got to his feet, his eyes somber.
“And to think, this used to be something great. Now, it’s nothing.” Abe did not wish to see such things. Even though he had no idea what this place was, he knew how the Glukkons could easily ruin something as beautiful as a stream, lake, or mountain even. He had seen huge mines dug in a beautiful, flower filled land, and he had seen beautiful species being captured and grinded into tasty treats many times. Yet, he could never be used to it. It’s his reason for living, to help those in need so it doesn’t happen again. He grew up in a factory, not knowing what lied outside. The Glukkons made him “Employee of the Year”, a faulty lie that made Abe feel that his employers were the “good guys”. Of course, now that he found his true life, he had to face reality. That’s what came with being free and away from a life he once knew…he had to witness what the reality was behind the Glukkons evil. He never got used to it, no matter how much he saw it.
“Abe…are you sure this is where Big Face said to go? I mean…we could be totally off track.” Munch asked, curiously looking about.
“I think this is the way we should go….the Glukkons have been here.” Abe replied.
“Well, let’s get a move on, this sand is hurting my eyes! Sheesh, you’d think you guys had any senses left!” Alf said, squinting from the sand. Munch, George, and Alf began to walk away from where they were. Abe, still looking down at his hand, dropped the sand and slowly followed after them. The wind caught the sand, then blew the sand off into the desert in vortex formation.
