Well is you look at that picture, it's head is nearly touching the ground. And I was playing AO today and it looks like their legs are forward, stopping them from falling down.

Of course not! It's body is longer. While a Slog's is short and fat.

^Precisely. A Slog is built a bit like a cube, it's short (As in not long) and its body is quite high (As in upwards when it is horizontal), so its legs balance it as it is short enough to not be unbalanced. I think of their balance like when we crouch- we go horizontal but don't always fall over as our legs are long enough to balace our body's length.

When the Slog is running, its momentum helps to keep its head in the air, just as I can lean forward more when I'm running than when I'm standing still.

Idea

Well, if you ask me … this is my opinion about Slogs … if you ask me … I think the half of the Slog (head) weights the same as the their other half (body + legs) … and it seems that they both = themselves out so the Slog doesn’t fall face first ... do you see what I’m talking about? Think about it … Look at the way Slog's walk ... (in the picture or in the game ... look ... i may be right ... kinda like what Munch's Master said)

Hmm, so, Bunce, what if it stops moving? It should crash to the ground, no?

To my memory, in game, when standing still, they keep their legs a bit further forward. The one in the first picture looks like it's just about to set off into a run.

They might be consciusly holding their heads up off the floor, or their bodies are just very light. (I.e very small brain. Also the lack of noticeable ears or of eyes also reduces weight due to there being less organs in the head). And I kinda agree with Max, when I run I can crouch and lean forward, yet if I stop I start to fall. Maybe slog bodies are built in a way that their legs are fixed downwards, so their legs can't slip out and their legs stay rigid in that position, or it might be thir waists fixed in that position so they can't have their bodies pushed upwards. After all, if their lower jaw is fixed and the upper jaw is the moving one (Forget where I got that from, mighta been OW.com, mighta been Max) then whose to say their skeletal system isn't different in other parts of the body as well (After all if they only have two legs, their skeleton must work different to conventional dogs purely to move).

Well, if you look reeeaaal close, the further leg is a little forward, for weight distribution, by the looks of it. However, I did do a little research into this.

I'm pretty light, so what I tried to do is simulate a slog (yeah I'm... wierd like that). I did this by bending my legs till I was short, then stuck the rest of my body forward, so it was similar to the way a slog stands. Also, think of doing a big bow. Their bodies are built for that stance, so maybe they can do it better. Also, I'll try get a slightly less fuzzley picture than that (AO on PC is good for makin' screenies ^^)

Slogs have a special organ that allows them to defy conventional gravity. They share this with Elum. It was the ability of such creatures to appear so off-balance that first inspired the Vykkers to create the technological replicas of these organs that keep Greeters, Chant Suppressors and Zappers up in the air.

That's a guess.

Aha, I thuoght it might've been TOGG. Well, that totally wrecks my theory, as the knees and thighs have pivot points on the skeleton.
