Question MO as an ending

I know oddworld is suppose to have more stories coming up and MO was only number 2, but for people who don't know alot about oddworld besides it being a fun game to them do you think MO provides closure

No and no. There is nothing to indicate or even imply that the Magog Cartel is over. The only thing that really ended was Vykker's Labs. The Magog Cartel will (probably) be going strong till the end of the Quintology.

As for providing closure, it did that in the sense that Munch freed the Fuzzles and saved his eggs, so yes. It provided to closure for that particular story.

I don't think they give that impression of closure or the end of the Cartel in the slightest.
In fact, in the Good Ending of Munch's Oddysee, the newspaper makes a point of mentioning that Margaret is still alive on Life Support without the precious lungs.

However, on an individual basis, I think it successfully implies closure for the Munch character. He has escaped from his torment, witnesses the destruction of tormentors and rescued the last Gabbit eggs of know existence. There is ever implication that he will go on to father the Gabbits and that the species will survive.

Abe didn't really have any closure, but Abe had really bugger all in that game. He rescued his unborn brothers, which is essentially rescuing slaves before any of the trademark mistreatment. It just seemed to be another thing for Abe to do.

I see what you mean. I always wondered about the angelic ending, because it did certainly give the impression that the Industrial families are heading into some deep doodoo. But I never felt that it was the end of it all; merely the beginning of some sort of recession.

BTW Kamille, if you don't like a previous post you should click on the edit button rather than double-posting.

The end of MO is definatly the end of something, but not much more then that particular vykerslabs and the hope for maggie to find some new lungs.

There are way to much questions unaswered to be the end of the quintology.

And the end of MO was not the end of Vykkers Labs. It was the end of one lab. A single lab. Nowhere does it imply that this is the only one.

Wasn't the ship that exploded dubbed "Vykker's Labs?"

It was also, of course, the end of Lulu's wealthy days.

And Kimon, there are more Vykker's Labs out there other then Vykker's Labs #12. Just because it was destroyed, doesn't mean that we will never see Vykker's Labs again.

The Magog Cartel is the business empire of the Glukkons, run by Queen Margaret. It owns all the businesses we have seen so far including RuptureFarms, Soulstorm Brewery, Bonewerks, Flubb Fuels, etc etc etc.

I wasn't trying to accuse him of not knowing about the Magog Cartel.
I was waiting for a reply so if he said "Yes", I could explain it a little more.

Wait a second. If the Magog Cartel is giant, then that makes Abe's mission impossible! Unless they have an exteremly long and complex plan to wipe out the Magog Cartel.

Seeing as Abe is a messiah for the mudokon race he would have many followers I'd say. If he inspired enough of them they could all revolt and throw off the Magog Cartels shackles. Fanatics can be very dangerous.

Maybe, but none that we are going to see in Gameplay.
Abe will always be the only hero Mud, that will be controllable (Most likely).

I'm expecting some kind of huge rebellion of all the mudokons against their oppresors.
the magog cartel doesn't have to be defeated actuallly, it has to be more respectfull of his employees and his customers.

Xavier has a good point. The Magog Cartel could still exist but be respectfull to its customers, employees and definetly the enviroment. In the end the Magog Cartel could have a change of hats and someone more respectfull to everything could take over, or the Muds and Glukkons could work together. But I think some (or most) people want to see the Glukkons fall for what they have done.

As for an alliance between the Muds and the Gluks, that seems very unlikely. I would expect it to only be possible through some sort of glukkon civil rights leader or something. Or if Maggie desires peace.

Yes I think it's unlikely as well but it is a possibility, however minute. I don't think Maggie would want peace between the glukkons and mudokons. Don't forget why they become enemies.

I would kinda like to see Maggie & Sam make peace.
It would be kinda cool, but then I would also want to watch the Glukkons pay for their wrong-doings.

peace between muds and gluks would be difficult indeed.
actually it's more a struggle of the muds to show they aren't as dirty as the gluks think they are, and that they are inteligent being just like them.

if mudokons can expose the problems to khanzumers and making them care, they might force the gluks to respect the muds more.

they just buy stuff from the glukkons...
that doesn't mean they know how they work and what they do in their factories
And that doesn't mean they like them

But do they buy things from Mudokons?
Are they Peaceful like the Muds?

Maybe they don't like the Glukkons that much, but I bet that they are closer to them and can relate more to them than they can with the Mudokons.
