Unknown characters of Oddworld

Hey, I was wondering what everybody thinks about characters of Oddworld that have not been used in any Oddworld games but were created by Oddworld Inhabitants and belong to them? Like the Chroniclers or the Khanzumers or the Musklums. What major roll do you think that they might have played on Oddworld, how could they have effected it, who were they friends with?

not sure about musklums but i know that the chroniclers were like the bankers or soemthing for the glukons and the Khanzumers is a giant monster type thing that the gluckons and the rest of the magog cartel put thier money towards or something, im pretty sure those 3 things u mentioned are just affiliated with the magog cartel

Chroniclers are the bankers, stock brokers, lawyers and accountants of Oddworld. They're not part of the Magog Cartel. Khanzumers are the main consumers of Oddworld. It's actually been debated whether they are a species, or whether ‘khanzumer’ is just the Oddworld word for ‘consumer’ just as ‘quarma’ is the Oddworld word for ‘karma’.

No one knows what Musklums are. They look like some kind of game-hunting species. When we first became aware that Stranger's Wrath was partially about hunting, we suspected they would be the main enemy.

What does that big stick that the Chroniclers hold do?
I have a cool picture of both a Chronicler an a Musklum, I will scan them as soon as I find them.

What do you think Scoops/Worry-fish would have done if they had been in a game?

There's alsao the Luskens, lobster like beings who live out in the desert rading caravans and such. Then there are the 1%er's who I believe to be a kind of hunter. There's also the Flightless Birds which I saw from the Fangus designs that appear top be the politicians, doctors, and lawyers of their realm on Oddworld (it could all just be connected).

i think that the stick would have been some sort of abbacus or something.

the fish were in a game, at the start of munchs oddysee.

I dont ever remember Scoops in Munch's Oddysee.If your talking about when it shows all the Gabbits underwater, I dont think those are Scoops.

Used, Arent 1%ers anothername for those cockroaches?(im not sure)

I do not know that uch about them myself either. There are also Meetles, which I preesume are like sligs and interns only for a different mega corporation.

No, Meetles are either those big flying things or they are those huge beetles that the Mudokons ride.
And then there are those Kintos. I think they are slaves, they look like a mixture between a Scrab and a Glukkon. They have lips pierced with chains(that is bassicly thier leash) and two long arms that support them and then they have covered eyes. Let me try to find some pictures of these creatures.

They cant be???, Scoops have a long body with a short tail, those fish in the movie dont at all.

If you look at the picture of the strange creature with mechanical legs and a swishing tail, it reads MEETLE.

True, It does say Meetle. That is so weird, I know for a fact that a Meetle is a BIG flying creature and has a basket strapped around them. Kind of like a hotair baloon.

Maybe the person who drew that was on some kind of Oddworld forum and MEETLE was his nickname. Say you drew a picture and wanted to show it to us, you would probably label it USED at the bottom.

I dont know, I have to find out what kind of creature that was.

As far as Meetles go, you're ALL correct. Meetles start out as cute little pink larvae, and depending on their diet they can grow into a number of different forms. When fed plants and raised kindly by the Mudokons, they grow to be those round-shelled beetles or the blimp-like creatures. When fed meat and raised by the Industrial powers, they become either the triangular-shelled, weapon-equipped Mugs, or that strange thing with the mechanical legs and big mandibles.

We should also bear in mind that these are concept art sketches we're looking at. Abe's design went through a lot of versions before he appeared in a game. It's quite possible that the Inhabitants never quite decided on what Meetles would actually be.

I think we can keep our hopes up that these creatures will appear in future games. After all, look at Mr. Sekto! The parasitic Oktigi first appeared in the production art for Munch's Oddysee (the Glukkon family tree image), only to return as the main villain in Stranger's Wrath. Same with the Gloktigi. Oddworld Inhabitants most likely has a large collection of creature designs waiting for the right game to appear in.

Thats a good hypothesis, buit OI woudl label it with my logo, not my user name, but thats just me.

Angalok is right. The original Abe looked quite different than the one we see now. What confuses me is why they never made a sketch of a Sklillya prototype. They may have but strict confidentially issues kept them concealing it. I'm guessing they never made one though, if tyhey released pictures of Sam and Maggie, then they would would probably release one of Skillya.

Yes, as Angalok just said, its a Meetle that was raised by Industrialists and fed meat its whole life and then turned into that.Hey Used, is Skillya the Slig queen?Im not quite sure what race she is Queen of or who she really is.

As for these creatures being in games, I think Chroniclers would have been perfect in Munch's Oddysee. I hope to see all of them in future games.

used, I'm working from memory here because my art book is on the other side of the planet from here but I think it's just a concept art for a meetle but not the final design. I think that's also what we mean when we talk about the 1%er. Or was that the luskan raider? I forget.

Salamander, Sekto is a part of the Octigi family, along with the Gloktigis, the Glukkons and those squid heads(which Sekto is) that latch on to living things and control them.

Also Salamander, how are Khanzumers the most important race on Oddworld?

Simple answer: because they have the most moolah. If it wasn't for them consuming products, the glukks and vykkers wouldn't be doing all the horrible things they do.

So the Khanzumers are the ones causing the Glukkons and Vykkers to do the horrible things they do, Man these guys sound pure evil. I cant wait until Abe & Munch return so they can whoop the Khanzumers.

That's the 1%er, thought to be an early design of a Mug (clearly labelled Meetle before a separate term was coined for the carnivorous form of the creature). I personally suspect it was superceded by the triangular-winged eight-legged form a) because it features the eight legs and four eyes that the grubs have, and b) because you can see them in a design of Magog Motors.

Like I said earlier, it's not known whether Khanzumers are actually a race, or just the Oddworld word for ‘consumersᰱ. The exact wording we have is that they are the most important creatures on Oddworld.

Cullen heath's not too wrong by describing Khanzumers as evil. While OWI try to blend the line between good and evil, I have heard official word that Khanzumers are the only true evil on Oddworld.

I think the Khanzumers are ignorant, helpless denizens of Mudos, and possibly other continents that are in the firt world nation figure of oddworld. I don't picture them as fat and big headed as so many before me have. I picture them sort of as people. OI don't think they're evi. I mean, why would they buy the products they buy if they knew where they were coming from. Tne uds probably recognize them as evil because it is there demands that fuel the Magog Cartel's on going demancipation of species.

Max, I meant that waterfall bug thingy, or were you explaining that thing?
