"Odd" Games Convention (this will be very strange for everyone...oh yeah..)

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry that I'm late. My comp was infected by a virus and held me tight for four days.

On the one hand, I was very surprised about these strange news and on the other hand, they weren't authentic.
This year, I couldn't visit the Games Convention becasue I was on the road. So I'm really not sure if the people just told crap or if they have had no idea about it.

A man, who visited the Games Convention 2005 told me that he has seen a booth about Oddworld at the XBox- corner. Consciously, I didn't as a friend because friends make fun sometimes, you know.
I asked a non-Oddworld-fan to be sure.

He told me that the Oddworld game, which is called "Oddworld Reloaded", will come next year and isn't produced by Oddworld Inhabitants, but from another company.
Well...I just could laugh. I don't believe that it was true, but why should this guy lie?
I scanned every page about XBox, Games Convention and Oddworld. I found nothing.
Yesterday, I sent a post to the GC-Forum and I hope to get some answers.

You kiddin'!? Only Oddworld Inhabitants make the best Oddworld games, and no other! I'm laughin' 'cause no one can copy Lorne's creations in to games and what not. I agree with Kimon. Total...bullshit

Oddworld reloaded seems a perfect "project title" meaning it's the title they use inside but isn't the name they will use for the release.

They could use the stranger engine that's why it could be still on Xbox, even if it's quite stupid to release a game on Xbox when the Xbox 360 will allready be released?

Yeh, I agree with Xavier, but then there's the question why isn't it been made by OWI...you don't think Lanning's gone and done something stupid like sold the copyright stuff to someone else do you???

Sounds very unlikely to me, surely we would have heard about it from somewhere? no gaming site, no report on that convention has even mentioned Oddworld, I believe. But I'll keep an open mind.

Hmm......I'm a bit skeptical, to be honest. I'm not saying it isn't true-it's possible that it could be-but I'm just not feeling it right now. I mean, surely we would've known something about it beforehand, right? I think it's a bunch of crap, honestly, but I could be wrong.

It seems rather... odd... that its not mentioned anywhere else on the internet. If they were keeping it secret enough to stop it appearing on the internet (whoever's doing it) then why would they make a booth for it? And surely there would be reports on the convention that would say what's there, at least in X-box magazines and stuff. It seems strange that it's no where else.

i lost faith in Oddworld the day it stopped coming out on PC :Fuzsad: Oh, the pain... I'm still praying for Munch and Stranger releases on PC, however unlikely it may be.

Well, I don't believe this at all, unless Lorne's hired another company to produce the game, but then he'd probably have to sell the copyrights, which he shouldn't do. I'd rather see an Oddworld movie made by Lorne than an Oddworld ghame made by people who never began with the series, so don't know as much about it or care for it as much as Lanning.
But then again, if there really is a new Oddworld game coming out, I hope Lorne has something to do with it creative- and story-wise, and I also hope it's not a shoot em-up. I like FPS's, but I still think that Oddworld should leave that genre with the Stranger idea by itself and go back to the quintology; because that's where Oddworld's creativity is, and Fangus, a FPS, had no creativity. So I'm hoping that if 'Oddworld Reloaded' is real and Lorne's involved with it, then we see either Munch's Exoddus, Squeek's Oddysee, or a new Stranger game.

Lorne doesn't sell the rights, that's the last thing he would do.

Simply other developpers are making the game and he's still behind.

That means the company developping for Lorne has to read it and respect it.
Thus will understand what Oddworld is all about I hope. At least they won't contradict the other games and official information.

I looked at the gallery of the GC in hope to find the booth of Oddworld. I found nothing. So, I think that this guy just told crap or he changed it with another game. We all don't know. -_-
Let's see what comes next.
