Starwars thread 2

As in my older thread,(Way older) I've decided to make this thread for some starwars fans out there. As of some people will be talking about the new movie Starwars episode 3, other will talk about episode 1 or 2 or perhaps even the unreplaceable original trilogy. So why don't we start discussing shall we?

I can't believe it! You've got to see the original trilogy DVDs, etc.

I really really enjoyed Revenge of the Sith back in May. It had flaws like any other film and things that needed improvement, but definately a thrilling, emotional, and satisfying conclusion to the Star Wars saga in my opinion, even with some stilted dialogue again, great performance by Ian Mcdiarmand as Palpatine, and everyone else was either still good or much improved from "Clones."

I did enjoy Episode 1 and 2, but 3 definately tied with Empire Strikes Back for me, as well as bringing back more of a classic Star Wars feel from the Original Trilogy as well.

Well I enjoyed all of them and I can't wait until 3 is on DVD. It will complete the saga and I will host a Star Wars marathon at my place. I wounder how long it will take to watch all 6 films in a row?

There was a rumer floating around about Spealberg making 7, 8, and 9. I doubt it Lucas is done with Star Wars and I don't blame him. He never imagined that in his entire life he would make a hit space opera. You can say Star Wars for George was a long side track in his filmaking career.

There are many books and games about Star Wars but they have nothing to do with George's vision of his universe. Any Star Wars fan knows that.

My favorite Star Wars movie is The Empire Strikes Back, but Revenge of the Sith is really good, too. I agree with Al as well-Episode III did have some flaws that could've been fixed (like the script for one thing-some of the writing was kind of bad and some of the acting could've used some work.), but it was still an amazing movie with an excellent story, special effects, and was very emotional at times. I, too, have heard the rumors about more movies and hopefully, this will end up to be true. However, it probably isn't because I saw Lucas say in an interview once that after Episode III he was through. But if he did make a 7, 8 and 9, I don't think it should go past that.

loved the scene in ROTS where the jedi attempt to arrest Palpatine. It was sad but well done.

Dead Star Wars ROCKS!

I've been a SW nutter since I was seven years old (that's about a decade ago now) and I still think it's the best set of movies out there!

Anyway, about Ep 7, 8 & 9 Lucas made one huge story, but it was too huge so he hacked it down into a trilogy of trilogies saga thing, for some bizarre reason (don't ask me why 'coz I have no idea) he made Ep 4, 5 & 6 first, then several years later Ep 1, 2 & 3 but I believe he did infact say somewhere along the line that it was the end after Ep 3 and Ep 7, 8 & 9 weren't going to happen, sad I know but there you are.

I can see where he's coming from though, I mean the last three Ep were going to be about Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the crew and can you imagine all the original actors coming back to do it?

I don't think it'd work... But Star Wars still rocks the universe next door as well as the one far, far away...

they could remake the orignal 3, with new actors and speacial effects, and continue from there, but that would take some time.

Thats always been proposed rumor that I hope doesnt ever come true. The original trilogy has been altered a lot and I've respected the changes but if George were to ever remake the three of them with new people and new effects I know I'd never be able to watch Star Wars again or be a true fan. I think the six now that are out have their flaws of course but finally are one story one movie just like the lord of the rings books/movies, and should remain the way they are now.

The oringinal Trilogey should never be changed. No new actors, no new jabba, nothing. The original Trilogy is what got The new one all started. So, in short words, Lucas shouldn't replace the OT.

I totally agree; the original trilogy is great as it is. However, I think that it would be kind of cool if instead of having a 7, 8 and 9, a new saga could be made instead. Or maybe something totally new could be created. Who knows? It could even be BETTER than Star Wars! (Which is hard for anyone to imagine now, but hey, it's an idea. )
