Abe's Oddysee Maps

For those who don't know, there is a site called VGMaps, or the Video Game Atlas. It contains many maps from many games across many systems.

I stumbled onto maps for Abe's Oddysee today. They show all the areas, all mudokons, all the portals, sligs, paramites, scrabs, slogs, bees, and even bats (though they're hard to notice). The images were ripped directly from the game.

I thought it was cool, and decided to share it with all o' ya. I don't know if this could possibly fall under the category of Oddworld Help, so ... here it is in General Discussion.

Well done. I'm going to save pictures right now.

Works fine for me, what browsers are you both using?
Good find, Dave, now I can see if there's anything I missed!

It doesn't work for me either. I'm using Internet Explorer.

EDIT: Never mind, it worked on me right now.

Same here. Those are great, well found Dave. This will be useful for the people who are stuck on AO.

Haha, yeah. You can puzzle it through and such, without the danger.
And I can use this for when I'm bored on a beach holiday. I once tried remembering Entire AO while laying on a bored beach, didn't work out well. I fell asleep.

Or it could be used as storyboards for an Abe Movie (That would sure make it a boring movie)

I would like to see an AE one now.

If someone had a PC version of AE (I don't know if there ever was one, and I feel to lazy to look into it), they could easily use the Print Screen key and save every screen ...
If they had a weekend to spend on it.

I've got the PC version! I've already done a sort-of related thing like that, in my signature. Speaking of which, I should probably get some more backgrounds for that...

It would probably take me longer than a weekend, though, because I'm always on-off-on-off when I use the computer.

Well, I can, but it would have Abe on every image.
Yet this guy hasn't. Not even in the last boardroom image. *claps*

You could always take two shots with Abe in two separate locations, and impose the space where Abe stands in one spot over his spot in the other picture ...
Did that make sense?

Nice idea. Yeah it makes sense, I'm a LOTR geek so I've watched about 3 different "The making of Gollum"s. I really need to see those wonderfull movies again. (Haven't seen them for 4 weeks)
I'll try it.

Cool, this map is the first good look I had at the board room at the end of the game. Looks like those Glukkons are actualy renderd with the background or is that just me?

What does it mean when it says "this bird portal takes you up one screen"? Bird portals that Abe can use? ... That's news to me. Of course, I only ever got a few screens into the Stockyards before getting stumped and putting away my Playstation.

Yeah, that's what it means. In some places, they take you up one screen, so that's how it was explained by the guy. You can tell the difference during gameplay: if Abe can use the portal, it sorta revolves left and right, unlike rescue portals, which just move in a circle ...
Did that make sense?

they are simply character on the back of the screen since they act like "real" NPCs...
