Munchs oddysee- am I missing something?

In the oddworld dvd i bought off ebay (the preorder one) there were allsorts of things that werent in the game- such as the slig running up the tower, where a mudokon was running in a rat wheel, there was none of that. I also noticed the sligs having a boff of a cigarette, which also wasnt seen by my eyeballs when playing the game. a lot of things really, like the slig who is picked up and thrown out of the window. i didnt see that place in the game. And the recyclers had lcd displays over the top, saying scrap, bone, fat and whatever. where did all this stuff go?

Those were very early demos of MO when it was supposed to be on the PS2. Since they moved it on the Xbox, those scenes wern't included in the final version.

I was dissapointed about that, actually. That game looked amazing. Much btter than MO, sadly.

I agree. As well as the graphics looking nicer, it had better motion, sound, AI and many other features.

DAMMIT I WAS WAITING FOR THAT VERSION FOR YEARS.
a few years ago, after ao and ae, i saw it in a magazine. i saw those screenshots, thinking wow, that looks amazing. a few years on, after i had forgotten about it, It was released only on xbox. i bought an xbox. just to play it. and none of the screenshots and videos, which looked much better than most elements of the finished version, were not there. I am now sad.

Well that happend becuase of the move from PS2 to Xbox, and they had to hurry producing the game, because Microsoft (publisher back then) wanted to be a launch game with Xbox release.

Edit: Aquacid, your banner is way to big.

Yeah, I remember seeing those videos/images when it was first announced for the PS2 back in 2000, I believe. I remember PSM saying that MO was going to be like the Zelda of the PS2-I was so hyped up about it and then I was suddenly sad when they took half of the cool stuff (sligs flying out windows-there were even supposed to be other vehicles besides the snoozer! ) out of the game due to the move to the X-box. Don't get me wrong, MO on X-box was still a good game, in my opinion, but if it had stayed on the PS2, it would've been a SUPERB game-possibly one of the best ever.
