Arrow With all the great music pieces, OWI should make an Oddworld music CD

Who noticed, that you listened to high quality composed masterpieces in Stranger's Wrath?
For me, music in a game is as important as a human with hands.
Well, I think that the music in Stranger's Wrath contributes to the feeling of being "in" the game not only in front of it.
The music in the game is impulsive but sometimes relaxing, exciting and hectic, fascinating and admirable. I have never been so fascinated of music in a game before.

What do you think of having music of Oddworld on CD? I would be very happy about it because this is what one can call music nowadays.

You can go to the official site and download most of the Stranger's Wrath soundtrack for free, actually.

I'd like the music from AE too

Anyways, has anyone noticed that in the soundtrack from Monsaic Lines, there is this bird that sings. Firt i though it was normal bird-singing, but then i noticed that it was singing to a melody... Followed by some waterdrops that do the same... It creeped me out :S
Ok ok, i know i'm too observant.

I've downloaded them all and you could make a nice cd out of them... Maybe someone should try to enter oddworld in limewire or kazaa...

WAM, Ill try I am so smart!

*edit* I use Limewire, someone else should try kazaa or bearshare or soulseek or any program...

*edit* search done. Only found songs called zombie nation oddworld 2000 hardcore remix...
I'll try later on again, to see if there are different users online...

i love the feeco depot music and the slig barracks where you possess dripik. the music in munchs oddysee wasnt too good though, it was very limited and repetitive. this was a big let down considering i loved the other games music.

I have the Abe's Oddysee soundtrack also. It's awesome.

I'm a big fan of video game music, but particularly enjoy the Oddworld music as well. Although OWI have placed many pieces online to download, I think that an official CD would be a great idea. I guess though it depends on whether they think it would be viable, as game music generally isn't as popular in the US/Europe/etc as it is in Japan.

Although one idea would be to have a CD available for Alf Rehab and Tea members. I think it wouldn't cost them much to produce, as they could just burn copies onto a blank CD and throw a nice label on it. Then they could sell it for $10-$15 or something like that. I'm sure the fan club members would love to buy it, and it would be inexpensive for OWI also as there would be no production costs and other things involved of mass producing CDs in stores.

I would love to have my hands on an official Oddworld soundtrack, but I doubt that will happen any time soon. Oddworld really has quite a niche popularity, and game music isn't popular enough as it deserves to be to begin with. If an Oddworld movie were to be a massive success, there might be a soundtrack - then they could include bonus tracks of the game music, maybe.

In Japan, there's an official soundtrack CD for just about every game. They're apparently obsessed with video game music over there, hence the Abe a Go Go soundtrack being sold in Japan and not anywhere else. Bit unfair, but I guess that's the best market; anyway, Japanese goods are only an eBay bid away. Although I'm not sure why Abe's Exoddus (known as Abe99 to them, I think) didn't have a CD.

Although it's not there yet, Abe's Exoddus is listed in the upcoming soundtrack downloads at this website:

I downloaded the music of Oddworld too and I still can't stop listening to it.
The music of AO is amazing too, one of the bests. Listening to them when being online is great, but that's not enough for me. I need a compact disk with the best pieces (actually, I like all ) on it. That could give you the feeling that Oddworld is everywhere you go. Hehee

That's a good Idea. I play Didgeridoo and Saxophone. A friend of mine plays harp. My father plays guitar and piano...mixing all together would give an odd music. hehehe

I don't see the need for an actual physical CD. If it's just for the fans, then it's fine to just make them downloadable (and OWI should be commended for doing just that).

I'm not sure about an AE soundtrack. The music wasn't as memorable as AO.

I just converted them into Wav files and burnt them all to disc, so I would only buy it if it came with something worthwhile (Merchandise)

It's funny, a lot of people say that they don't notice the music for games. But often the music helps make a game. Ever bought a budget game? The music on those generally sucks to hell and you just want to turn it down and put something of your own on it. When a game has good music [i.e. appropriate for that area, well composed, etc] then it helps you gain more of a feel for that area and gives the game something extra. Composers of game music are often not given the recognition that their movie composer counterparts are given.

I pretty much only listen to game music now days apart from a few exceptions. I even have some tracks from some games I have never played just because they sound great as pieces on their own.

I totally agree with Abe Babe.I don't like games without or with less music because I need an indication that my enemies are close, behind me or away. Game music can be very relaxing after a bad fight or in a level with a stunning environment.

A game without music could be neither a good game nor an exciting game.

So is it with movies. Has anyone of you ever seen lord of the rings? probably you do. If you see an amazing landscape, and the music goes louder and louder you'll feel the landscape better...
