I've never had any run-ins with centipedes, probably due to where I live. I've had experiences with earwigs though. They're not as bad as centipedes, except for one thing: THEY SWARM! I rarely see just one earwig by itself. There are usually several in one area. One time I was rollerblading in the driveway and I stood still for a few seconds, and about a minute later I suddenly realized I had earwigs crawling all over me. I was probably less than ten at the time. Needless to say, I was freaked out.
Earwig! This is somewhere around an inch long. What they lack in size they make up for in swarmy scariness.
Nightcrawlers are worms, Abe's Son. You must be thinking of something else.
