Hi, this should be in General Discussion, but since the very begining I played AO, the fan corner is for 'Fan Things' like drawings of Oddworld and stuff like that

I've become a fan when I first saw my cousin play the demo on PlayStation on the end of 1997 (I was a little scared of that game at the beggining though ). Later my parents bought me a computer and Oddworld was my first game

why? Well, the guy had his lips sewn together and he was chased by some dog-like creatures, who wanted to kill him (I thought that Sligs are dogs). Plus there was blood on the floor and meat falling from the ceiling, and the other bad guys (aka Glukkons, but I didn't knew that back then) wanted to do a snack out of their workers, including the mentioned before creature with stitches on his lips (my cousin translated most of the things for me...as a kid I could understand very little from the intro)..and I don't know....that atmosphere...to be honest I can't remember most of the reasons, but they were enough to scare an eight years old girl ...dear odd, that was so long ago.....

It all started when my mate of mine said to me" Hey, I got new cool game, where you can posseess your enimes" Now I liked the sound of that, so I wanted to see hows it's like. And when I first saw the AO intro movie I got real hooked. And we proggessed through game. I realy loved everything in this game, I was drawing the creatures out of the text book.

Later, I saw someone got this new game, it was AE, I got even more exicted when there was going to be more of that Abe dude. I bought the game before I even had a PSone to play one. When I got to play it, i was I even more hooked. It took ages to finnish it, when I did, I knew that there going to be a new Oddworld game with Abe in it. I realy become an odd fan back then, I oddworld was my fave game ever.

Then heard about new next-gen consoles. I looked through the magazine, when I saw this little screenshot, it was a Scrab with the windmill hut, and it was 3D. I got so exicited about this game, Munch's Oddysee. So I did what a real fan would do, find more info and learn more about this game. Boy, was I interested . I loved the art too!

More info I get on oddworld, more of a bigger fan I became.

well, i found abe in a store (most of this is from my bio) selling out old games, i saw the box with i guy i reconised (it was abe from the munches oddysee add on a bus. once i got the game, i had to wait a week to atcually play it. the computer i was using didn't have sound, so i pretty much just loved the game. it was so realistic, yet odd. i felt i could almost walk into the game becuase of how it was done. then i put the game on a computer with sound. i loved the darkness realisticness of the CG movies. i loved them!
then some people told me about abes exodus and munches oddysee. i later bought the game, munches oddysee (soon after i my brother and i had a xbox). i was amazed again by the quality of the CG movies and the fact that i control abe in 3D and could explore more of oddworld. and from a then on, i had become an oddworld fan, or more of one i had been before.

I became a fan when I was 6 or 7...My father brought home Abe's Oddysee, and, well, I loved it. It is what started me in drawing (And getting in trouble for drawing during class). My father really regrets buyong the game now.

I first got into Oddworld from Abes Oddysee ad (not sure if it was the same as the US one, but it showed Abe getting chased by Sligs and getting killed by Scrabs) and then I play the demo heaps and finally got round to buying the game.

After finishing the game I was completely hooked and was a fan of Oddworld.

Oddworld was the main reason for me buying a X-Box.

Basically, I was just browsing Gamespot and just looking at possible game categories I would be into, not really looking for anything per se. Then I noticed this game called Oddworld: Stranger. So I took a look at the environments movie they showed and I was just blown away by the graphics and the whole concept of 1st to 3rd person action. Wow, I thought, this has got to be one of the best games ever to be conceived! So, I slowly became interested in it, hyping myself up for it ever so slowly; joining the Oddworld forums on the GS boards, joining these forums later after that, telling all my friends on other forums about it, and just getting so excited to play the game. I got the game finally, and ever since it's been on my top 10 games of all time list. I suppose I won't have Fangus to add to that list... *sigh*

I kinda have this big 'junk collector-quality,' meaning I do most of my shopping at yard-sales and flea markets. So once, several years ago, I bought this big box of old gaming magazines for, like, two dollars. And the first one I read had this big, three-page fold-out ad for Abe's Oddysee on the inside cover. It also had a really positive review of the game with these great screenshots showcased. Therefore, years later, when I saw a copy of Abe's Exoddus at a second-hand game store, I knew I had to pick it up. Abe's Oddysee soon followed, and the rest, as the say is history.

Once when I was like 5 or 6 years old, my dad told me about a new game called "Oddworld" that he saw in a magazine. He showed me the magazine and flipped to the page, and I thought it looked really cool, so I asked him to get it for me for Christmas. (Which was one month away) So on Christmas Day, I got the game, played it, and loved it, and stayed tuned for the next Oddworld game.

Yep, that's my story and I remember all of it. *takes a bite out of his scrab cake*

I was 11 years old, and I had first gotten my PS1, so my father rented a bunch of games for me to play on it. One of those games was AO, and honestly, I was terrified by it (I found it to be very difficult for someone who had never played any videogames before). A few months later I decided to give it another try, and loved it *immensely* . I got AE the day it was released and although I've never played any of the X-Box games, I've been a fan of Oddworld since then.
