SlogMeat concept drawings

These are for the new web comic I'm helping Fuzzle Guy and Elodie create.

Slogmeat will be a continual storyline comic that consists of four panels in each strip. It stars Trub, a troublesome Slog and Dealer, a gamble-crazed teenage Slig who I assume owns Trub, as well as a mysterious Fleech named Dosovio.

First: Trub the Slog (Star of SlogMeat)
I did a simple image of a Slog, and designed the company logo branded on his backside.

More to come soon!

Next: Dealer the Slig

A logo for his character page. He's got a flag attached to the rim of his pants.

The "preliminary sketch" for him.

The "Poker Chair," a nifty little device that I came up with for him to sit in while he gambles.

Color comp of his portrait. Not finished.

Dosovio: Nothing yet worth scanning.

And it's just "Dealer." Not "The Dealer." Just so you know.

Those are some great drawings of a Slig! Fantastic colouring job Dipstikk (I'm too stupid for Photoshop) and as always I love your attention for details. And the Slog is just cute, it looks so happy (so they do have tail?). I can't wait for the comic

Lol, I'm glad you can't wait. That means we're at least going in the right direction. We can expect the first installment of Slogmeat to be out by not this friday but next friday, as i don't want to rush things, and this is our first chapter, we won't know fully how long it takes us to create a strip. We will eventually get better with time, and hope to have a comic strip for you guys every week.

As you can see we're a little tight on story details, hehe, we're mean like that! But it's no spoiler that Dealer is Trub's owner.

Dipstikk has done a great job proccessing my ideas into real living drawings of all the characters so far.

I can tell you that with dealer, one great aspect is that we can expect to see a lot more home made "pants" for him later in the comic, "The Poker Chair" is just one of the many hundreds that you will see later.

As for the site's progress it's going well. While i don't have a lot to show you physically, i can assure you that a lot of effort is going into it. I've seen too many Oddworld "projects" go to waist and i wouldn't like that to happen to this.

I'm sure someone mentioned about how Dipstikk created is artwork and surprisingly enough on the website we will have a section dedicated to tutorials. They will range from tutorials on hand drawn characters to making your work into a digital format to colouring it. If Dipstikk is willing to help out on this, I'm sure it will be a great feature of the site in the future to come.

Other main contents of the site will be...

Comics Archive
Tutorials
Competitions
Art Gallery
Authors & Designers

Some other features that hope to be implemented into the sites design are...

Style switching - change the look of the site to suit your preferences
Text size- Increase and decrease the text size
Calendar - An intelligent calendar that keeps a track of what comics and what episodes you have seen and those you have missed.

Well that's all for now folks!

I am making the characters for the comic you are working on it will be in a different style, and this helps spread the work load.

You should make a section which explains the characters and settings of the comic.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention a Chracter Biography section. The way that it will be set out is you can choose which comics you want to find more information about and whether you want to view the character biographies or the environments and plots behind them. Thanks for reminding me.

Lol, he gets his name from his gambling addiction. As he is often the Dealer at most games. Not to be confused with illegitimate matters.
