Both are cool, but Sligs seem a more imaginative and cool. Plus, we know much more about them tahn we do Walvarks. I like both, but in this case, Sligs take the cake.

I like Sligs because there's something inexplicably charming about them. Their little nasally voices, the way they manage to express themselves with just an octopus for a face, and the fact that they enjoy their sadistic work so much makes them very likeable.
Wolvarks, on the other hand, just really make me want to Riot Slug them in the face. Perhaps they remind me too much of the drunken rednecks in my area. Their repulsiveness might make them better villains, though, since it gives me such incentive to knock'em off.
However, I'll be a better judge once I've actually played against Wolvarks. I hate their name, but they look pretty good in the pictures (Except for them ears...grrr).

Well, although Sligs are the classic enemies and got us scared in the first games, I like these Wolvarks just as well.
I always liked being hunted by Big Brother Sligs or I liked to run around with them but Wolvarks are a bigger challence than Sligs (hmm.... and getting them is much funnier )
I love em sligs! Infact did you know there were going to be sligs in Stranger's Wrath? In the early production phase of the game there was a rough cut of hundreds of sligs rampaging across a great field. It was cut out of the game in the final cut. But for odd sake I prefer Greeters. Very odd and strange. I love the fact glukkons use those PR machines for securty guards hehe.
That is the most unfortunate part in film making and Game design. Concepts in the end need to be sacraficed do to budget and other publication obsticles.
Most likely that concept will return in another game of course.

I like the Wolvarks. But I don't think Wolvark, I think Wal-Mart. Redncks crowding up in a huge building, getting what they need and just plian ol' waitin' in line to do stuff.
Plus, there's a guy that lives down the street (The names Carl. Heh! Carl...) that looks, smell, acts, and sounds like a Wolvark. It's creepy, and takes a rifle every now and then and shoots at practically nothing.
Sligs, all the way. You got to love gun-toting, psychopathic squids that are vulnerable to a good pantsing. Plus, like everyone else has been saying, they're the classic badguy. I mean, next to Abe, their the one thing I always seem to associate with an Oddworld game. (Even when they're not even in it).

It's hard to choose- Sligs look more 'odd' to me. The wolvarks look like cartoon dinosaurs but seem more dangerous- maybe because they seem less myopic than Sligs..
The description of Wolvarks almost match Sligs perfectly-even the part about them taking a nap while their bosses weren't looking. But all through the game, I never caught one napping- not once.
Could the Sligs be out of a job?
