OSW - good practice for Halo 2?

Like most other good Oddworld fan, I got the game the day it came out. A month later I'm playing the last screen. My 12 year old is about halfway thru the game but she has not put as much time as she would like :-) (how she got past the Palooka guy in 20 minutes still escapes me, took me 2 days). Both of us finished Munch's Oddyssey in a few months (at a slower pace tho)

So... What would be a good game in the same line of thought to keep us busy till summer? We often joke that after one gets past Palooka, or McGruff, or a few battle scenes down the river, Halo 2 should be like summer camp by comparison :-)

Would someone who enjoyed OSW be interested in Halo 2, or should I get Blinx 2 and resign myself to teach my 8 year old the intricacies of gaming?

Honestly I think that Halo 2 is such a good game that its worth it to enjoy with your 12 year old. The single player alone is enough to buy the game, (which you can play together in co-op mode) and it sounds like you and he (or she) are quite competitive, so the multiplayer is a great way to compete. Blinx 2 has both single- and multi-player, but I personally think that Halo is a much better deal.

I found Stranger's Wrath more difficult than Halo 2. While I haven't finished Halo 2, I am more than 3 / 4 of the way through the game - I simply put it down because it got repetitive. As with you, samtesla, I'm having trouble with PackRat Palooka as we speak

Halo 2 for the eight year ol' , eh? Might wish to reconsider. Blinx 2 is quite the appauling game, though. I was a fan of Blinx, until Blinx 2 came out. Give the 8 year old a talk about gore, though. "When de gun go bangy the man goes sleepy time!". Something along those lines. Unless of course he understands english, or any other language, where as I suggest you use that

Try hiring Halo 2 before purchasing, Halo 2 isn't as great as it seems...

I take it Halo 2 is similar to Halo 1 in that respect, then? I haven't even completed Halo1 for the same reason.
Anyway, I haven't got any of those three games: Halo 2, Blinx 2, or Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, so I really can't comment.
However, as Super Munch said, or seemed to say, Halo 2 for an eight year old might not be a good idea...

Has anyone confirmed that Halo 2 can do cooperative mode on one Xbox and 2 controllers? Also, the same question for Blinx 2? I know games like the Sega GT will work like that.

And, is it me, or Stranger looks a lot like Chuck Norris?

Halo 2 is a good game, but I don't understand why it was praised so much. It's really fun in cooperative and live, but boring alone, in my opinion. Just the same ol' shootin' all the time.

and the best way to test halo 2's needler is to have a bee on youre crossbow
but it must be 2 needlers thats cool...
