Reported on OddBlog. Two days ago.

But it's an interesting read, nonetheless. It doesn't seem to mention anything about the screenplay already being handed around Hollywood Studios (I'm thinking about it from memory, here), though.

Saw this on Oddblog... yep, it is the same one.
I never know if news on Oddblog has already been posted on the forums before or not - it's very confusing :s I think Xavier makes threads when he discovers news, whereas Max just leaves it on Oddblog... yep... Anyway, nice independant find.

I noticed some people don't go to oddblog very often
*shoots at the heretics*

So they don't notice the news when I only post it on Oddblog, like Dipstikk just did.
that's why I post it myself

but you all should check oddblog each day

Of course there is the potential in the television series aswell. I think Lorne should really move now onto these other forms of media to make his vision made possible beyond games. I always wanted to see on going stories of the characters of the Oddworld Universe in a TV series not to mention motion pictures.

I hope these rumors are true! And I don't go to the movies that much either, Angel Fox. But if this movie comes about, I'll definitely see it!

Yeah, it's pretty expensive over where I live too. And the prices have gone up! It makes me so mad. But, if it's an Oddworld movie, I don't care about the price because I know it will be awesome!

I wonder where they'll get enough story to make a show.
Movie is a good Idea, the Show is too, but then again, so was Game Over, and No one know where that show is.

Same here, whether it is FireFox, or OddBlog though, I am unsure.

As for the article, it's once again, great to see that Oddworld Inhabitants are getting their name everywhere they can. And I hope that CAA are doing their best to promote Oddworld Inhabitants.

Ideas for the show??!!
I thought Lorne Lanning already had most of the Oddworld story and characters planned out long before starting the first Oddworld game.NO??

While the idea of a film and tv series sounds really cool, I would still rather OWI to keep it in a game form, as there are alot more possblitiy ( play with good quarma or bad quarma, each with a different result/experience ), there still going contain CG clips in the games.

Final thing, would most of you rather that Oddworld retells some of the first few adventures from the games so far (to attract more people) or just continue on with reveal about Oddworld (make for the people who know Oddworld) ??

Ok,first of all sure a tv series would be cool but as abe guy said it wouldn't be very succesful and go down the drain in no time.

Now I think the movie would be a great idea and in reply to AWWW they should definetly start out from the beginning if they want anyone whos not an oddworld fan to understand

I would most definitely rather have Oddworld retell the first few adventures because of the same reasons that Phat Man said. And plus, I love the original cast of characters.

Game Over had alot of potential.

It's initial downfall was choosing to air on UPN. WTF!?

There has not been a single show, other than Star Trek, that has actually been successful on UPN.

Well actually not sounding like a geek or any thing but the old Star Trek show actually did horribly and not untill it was cancelled did it get a huge cultural following start.

Then years later they convinced them to restart star trek provided the technology that was available to them finally.

I'm thinking maybe he might start off with stranger if he makes a movie, because then it can start at a point where non fans will enjoy it too and it will also be something new for the fans that will still follow it so I think if OWI makes a movie it will probably follow stranger's story.

That is also one of the reasons Lorne made SW set in a western environment so as to give newcomers a sense of understanding and he went a little deeper little by little making it a little more confusing. But people still followed because they were finally brought into something fairly complicated without knowing it and still thinking it was very simple when. If they had just been dropped in a game not knowing who in the world they were or why they are talking to a giant raisin. People would of been confused if they weren't fans. So I think if Lorne makes a movie his best bet is to start out with OWS.
