It's a piece of art. OWI needed to thinking about how the crossbow and the Live Ammo appeared on the screen: how much room it would take up, at what angle it was, what size…

The live ammo in the picture is some kind of first artwork of Chip-punk's (Called "Skunk Bomb"), and pre-rendered place (first screenshot of game-engine), of course, this is only my theory.

I think you mean the background is realtime (ie game engine) rather than pre-rendered (ie FMV).

I'm not sure if that is correct. It could just be a good quality sketch.

I assumed it was a sketch at first, but then I noticed that it had pixelation, whereas the crossbow and critter did not.
