[rant]I used to but after the last federal election I've decided to move out as soon as possible.

For the sake of any non-Australians I should say that the Prime-Minister is the most dishonest, snivelly, crawling mistake of a politician ever to exist and yet the Australian people have deemed him worthy of not only becoming the second-longest running Prime-Minister to date but also giving him control over both houses of parliament, something that has happened to no party in thirty years. [\rant]

Nate, I feel the exact same way about my country now. When I was younger, I wouldn't have imagined that one day I feel so much hatred towards the leaders of my country. I am anything but proud of them. Don't get me wrong, I value all the rights and freedoms I have as an American, but those are far more limited than they appear at first glance... And many of them are being attacked everyday by the very people we expect to protect them.

Ironically, I'd love to move to Australia... but I don't think I've looked into its government enough.

Really, it's so sad that the day an honest politician exists, that pigs with wings made out of a snow will survive in the firey depths of hell.

You should call this thread "Are you a Patriot?" (see the union jack under my name?)
I love living in England but I think the royal family is real waste of space. We pay taxes for their fat arses and they just dissaprove of everything and put on a fake accent that some foreigners associate with everyday people.
Also Tony Blair has messed some stuff up, although my quality of life has improved since he came to power.

Ugh. The United States is no country in which to have pride.

Someday I will move far away from here. . . At least to Canada, if I can't afford anything more exotic. Because I have two predictions about what will happen as I get older: 1) I'll get smarter, and 2) this country will get even worse. My Civics teacher is always saying that we need to take care of the U.S., because when it comes down to it, we have the greatest potential for greatness of any country in the world. I agree completely. We squander the greatness of the States. We hire dumbasses in suits to throw away our chances of ever becoming a better nation. And seeing as I'm not in a position of any sort of power, it won't be up to me. So I really wouldn't feel bad about giving up on my country, or dodging the draft.

No, I don't have pride in my country. I despise patriotism in all forms.
It's a country! It means nothing! It's just a place where a lot of people happen to live!

I don't have pride in this place. There's no reason for me to do so, since the UK sucks so damn much. Too much wrong with it, too many idiots in power.
Unfortunately it seems this place is one of the best this stupid planet can offer when it comes to places to live, so I guess I'm stuck here for the rest of my days. Doesn't mean I like this place enough to be patriotic, though.

Yes, I long to move to Israel where the sun is shining...a bit too much though, but oh well
And the grass is...yellow and brown with patches of green

Nate, correct me if I'm wrong

My country is...get this...New Israel
the name I wanted

well, me being the president, prime minister, and dictator of the land, I could change the name whenever I want to Zoogsbury if I wanted.

My brother is the only other inhabitant of my country

Tony Blair is a right idiot. All that "education, education, education" crap. He lies all the time. He lied about education, and then about Iraq WMD's.

Geez, if I had my own country I wouldn't waste it on my brother.

Yes, the sun does shine a lot over there but at least an 8-month rainless summer gives your life some predictability. I mean, I'm in the middle of summer now and I'm wearing long-sleeves and carrying an umbrella. Damn Melbourne weather.

So... lets all make aliyah and start hanging out with Oddude_

I like my country in some ways don't get me wrong, but there are things I'd change:

The Royal Family- They eat up our taxes and are nothing mroe than figureheads with no real power.

Tony Blair- Apologies to any Labour supporters here, but wjho could vote him in yet again? He talks through his rear end, the taxes are so high and will get higher, he'll make university too expensive at this rate, and he sometimes seems more concerned about the illegal immigrants than his own country's people, who live here LEGALLY. Oh and he sucks up to Bush.

Yeah, I have plenty of pride for a country that has killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians and a country that frequently violates international law, due process, and the Geneva convention and brags about it. You love Gitmo(tm)? I love kicking jerks in the balls.

We did the Crusades, exiled people to different countries, had public executions AND had Witch-burning trials.

We. Are. Teh. Shizzle. Of. Teh. Nizzle.

Beat it, Bip!

Damn you, Bip. Damn you.

Though, saying that, we did a lot of colonialisation ourselves. In fact, we brought toilets to India when we did our lil' British Empire thing.

*Sighs*

I wish we still had a British Empire...
