I want to play it badly. I loved the first Half-life.

I'm hoping for a cool expansion pack like Opposing Force, I loved that game.....

HL2 is a fantastic game.

And coming from a guy who's not big on first person shooters, that's saying a lot.

I wish I had a decent PC. HL2 looks great, and I would love to own the Hell out of it. I mean, just for the Gravity Gun alone.

How's the multiplayer? I heard it was just... meh... a ramped-up CS.

Rise and shine. . .
Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No-one is more deserving of a rest, and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until. . .
Well. . .
Let's just say your hour has come again.
The right man, wrong place can make all the difference in the world. . .
So wake up, Mr. Freeman. . .
Wake up, and smell the ashes."

Game on. Perhaps one of the best games I've ever played, it's truely spectacular. So realistic that those who suffer from motion sickness have trouble playing it. :S The phyisics engine rocks, the graphics are really pretty (when they're turned up to full), especailly the awesome water effects, the facial animations on main characters and other NPCs are just plain amazing, and the gameplay is really great.
The only things I don't really like about HL2 is that the storyline should of gone a bit deeper then it did, and that airboat bit lasted a bit too long. And what was up with the ending? I want answers, damn you!
But overal it's a really great game that no PC gamer should be without.

EDIT: Oh yeah, about the multiplayer. . .
CS: Source is fun. Teambased deathmatch, team who wins the most rounds wins the game. Kinda fun, but for teambased multiplayer 3D shooter, I prefer Unreal Tournament 2004.
However, for the fans of ordinary death match, HL2: DM has just been released. Everyone gets a gravity gun, and you can kill each other with flying toilets and explosive barrels! YAY! Although it's very laggy and they've removed the crowbar. It needs a bit of work done to it, but HL: DM is there.

I thought so much of City 17 that I elected to establish my administration here, in the citadel so thoughtfully provided by our benifactors. I am proud to call City 17 my home. So weather you are here to stay or on your way to parts unknown. . . Welcome, to City 17. It's safer here."

I was hoping to avoid being flamed for not taking the trouble to defend HL2 ('cause there's no point :P ). Still, guess you can't please everyone. *shrugs*

BTW, my advice to people buying Half-Life 2 is to pre-load it online and buy the silver package. You get exactly the same files on a Half-Life 2 game disk as you get pre-loading the thing, and you don't get a manual either way because HL2 has no manual (apart from a setup manaul showing basic controls and such).
Also, you get 'more bang for your buck', as you get all the old Half-Life games (such as the original HL and Opposing Force, which can be played online in deathmatches), and Half-Life: Source (Half-Life 1 in the source engine. Has just a few improvements).
There is the problem of loosing your stuff if you re-install your operating system, but then they have an option of backing up your HL2 files onto DVD if you have a DVD burner.

"That's all for now. . . I will see you up ahead." Seriously, though, I'm sure everyone here is getting bored of my constant quoting and Half-Life related advice. This is a forum for ODDWORLD, after all. :P Guess I'm too attached to Half-Life.
Although I will say that I do owe a lot to Oddworld.

Forgive me, but...

HL2 vs. Halo 2

Story...HL2
Graphics...HL2
Enemy AI...HL2
Multiplayer...*Tie*
Campaign...HL2
Fun...*Tie*

This is all I wish to proclaim on this matter. They are both seemingly excellent games, to be sure...but I personally feel HL2 would finish the victor in a, "Clash of Titans," if you will...

HL2 ROCKS! And I even get motion sickness from it... bleh. Then again I got that with Goldeneye 64 as well so thats prolly just me :P.

Im playing the campaign now and its a freaking shame I never played Half life. I don't know half the story, can someone fill me in maybe? Its something with black Mesa, but I dunno what thats all about :P

You'd of gotten the original Half-Life or Half-Life: Source if you pre-loaded HL2 off of Steam with the silver option. :P
Google is your friend, too.

Bear in mind that this Half-Life story guide is mostly theory and assumptions (not much is know about the story, since you're not told that much in the games), but it is very good and makes sence. Contains some spoilers, though.

Enjoy.

Yeah, i completed it last night, what the hell happenes to the gravity gun when they try and take it off you? Looks like there's going to be a HL3, any bets on how long that's going to take? Really wierd ending, G-man can stop time? Don't get me wrong it's an awsome game but all the years they've been making it and considering how short it is; doesn't weigh up imo.

Yeah I completed yesterday, too. HL3? Well about 1-2 years cuz they will use the same engine. It was in the hungarian Gamestar.

Maybe the gravity gun uses the same energy source.

Whatever made it better didn't plan to. I knew straight away it would pick people up Personally i'd have waited to make the game longer, it's far too short, come to think of it, i don't think i even used half the guns i picked up.
