Announcement: Oddworld Forums Additions

We have just added some new additions to Oddworld Forums.

Post Preview: You can now preview your post before you post, reply or even edit. This is one of the main things I missed from the old ezBoard... as you could check that you got the formatting of a post right before actually posting it. The preview will be shown at the top of the screen after you click the Preview button, and just underneath will be the standard Message box which will have your text still in it, so you can just make changes accordingly. Even previews images, so great for those members who have problems getting images right.

Memberlist: A list of all members of the forums. Sortable by various fields including the top 25 posters on the forums. Just something extra we thought we'd add. A link to this is at the top of the forums next to the profile, rules, etc section.

Yes, that's really cool i know it from an other Forum (it's really better to preview the post). In the kacke Forum, one can post a picture without upload before and use colors and fonts and there are bout 250 emoticons ect.

anyway this is the best Forum i know and it'll be cool when more people would join!

You know what I find weird? some members joined, but never posted. For example, I saw someone that joined back in april, and still hasn't posted!

I remember you, Silver Neko!

When I first access the memberlist, without choosing any type of listing, it seems to be displayed alphabetically, except for the first 25 or so, which are in no particular order. What's the logic behind that? :confuzzled:

And why does it now say 'Instant Graemlins' instead of 'Instant Oddicons' when I make a post?

Edit: Wha-hey! I'm in the top 25! *dances like Crash Bandicoot and boings around on a pogo stick like Ripper Roo*

Alector... I'd like to add more Oddicons, can you tell me where you get yours from... or suggest some? The upload file feature you refer to is a feature of vBulletin (another forum program)... I don't think there's even a UBB hack for it (yet).

TF... Yes, there's a problem w/ the first page of the memberlist that didn't occur with the test server. I have a feeling it all has to do with when the user profiles were corrupted several months back, as all the members are under 100 (and it corrupted at 100 or so). I'm looking at a fix for it, so hopefully I can work it out.

And I'll get the Oddicons back... it must have reverted back to the default.

I have the smilies from the other Forum, there's a list with about 250 smilies. This Forum is similar to the OddForums, we also have to use the UBB code there.
Here's the smiley list. But the site is currently not responding, try it later, if it doesn't work. If you want, i can give you the url of the Forum... the other smiley list is cute, i found FF icons:

Thanks everyone for the links to the smilies... I'll see if I can add some new ones to the list shortly (takes a while as the hack I tried didn't work properly and I have to add them all by hand currently). I'll probably just stick to the standard sized ones, unless there's something cool that's a bit larger.

I also fixed the bug in the memberlist... everything displays correctly alphabetically now.
