Oddworld.com is updated.

A lot more info than normal (without giving too much away). I hope they put that Stranger model in stores...

(I didn't see a thread on this yet-sorry if this is a repeat).

Alf: Probably Elums and whatever other quasi-meat products they could find lying around. At Rupture Farms, no carcass goes unturned. Waste not want not!

I'm assuming that D. Caste Raider is the final boss, since the Anonymous Inhabitant was talking about the final boss and his "minions", of which Caste has 2. Of course, this would go against the logic of the cigar smoking outlaw being the leader, but who knows.

Is that a new boss I spy?

Wow, Bosses in an Oddworld game. And it seems SoulStorm Brew is making an appearance as well. Guess there will be Mudokons in the game afterall. (in a different form, that is...)

I hope that they are truly planning on selling those trading cards, they seemed quite happy with them. I think the new Outlaw's name is..uh...*squints eyes*...er....Snapps Manis?

gee I hope they will release a lot of merchandising, icluding those cards, and that bronze statue!

Maybe they can make a poster with those cards! (A bit like this Marilyn Manson poster )

I'm wondering that too. I think the only possible explanation is that only OW fans went to that booth and, of course, they'd want to keep the cards. Of course non-OW fans may have thought the cards were just too uber-cool to sell.

There's been a steady stream of requests from all over the world. Right now a presentation for Lorne at the 3D festival is being facilitated. Also, work has been submitted to onedotzero, the 3D International Festival, Spectrum, Expose 2 ... the list goes on! The Outlaw trading cards created for GDC went over great and now new ways to use those are being considered, as well as possibly creating more. That was a fun project with a positive outcome, so it'd be cool to take it a step further. Creative Services is working night and day on a project the fans are going to "flip" over ... sorry that's all we can tell you this week! Also, there was some recent press in Animation Magazine, and in a racy UK magazine called "Streetfighters" where one of the fans, Bob, showcases a bike with OWI images all over it. Smokin'!!!! Anything else? Just keeping our noses to the grindstone, and holding ourselves back from the marketing maelstrom we are secretly dying to release on the world!!!! - The End

Well, if this "hint-hint" paragraph is getting at the fact of merchandise and the idea stays at a stead-fast pace then you can most likely expect to see atleast the trading cards in stores. And notice how the writer is trying to draw your attention to the word flip....*ponders a ponder*

I also think it's awesome how they have different coloured environments to set the mood;

Sal graveyard-gray/blue
Dam area-blue
Everyone's all time fav environment-orange

I hope they wont make cards we have to collect...
simply cards to buy, and you know what's in each pack.
(I don't want to have all the collection but 2 missing cards, and spending lots of money just to find the packs with those 2 "rare" cards)

Aww, it seems you won't be able to choose which Bounties you go for first. I wonder if there'll be an alternative ending to each of the Bounties if you don't catch them? I.E - when you attack one Boss guy, and catch him, you get one ending. If you don't catch him, you get a different ending. If you kill him, you get another ending.

Maybe not an ending, but a CG movie right after you fight/catch/kill that reflects what you did and how much money/quarma you get or lose.

In one of the pictures under the paragraph about the ending it looks like an octigi and it looks like its in the picture with the machinary too.

Yes, they were just doing a CG test. It didn't have a background because it did not require one.

I remember that one. Stranger didn't even have arms in that test!

As for the cards...I'd like for them to be sold, but then that'd take away the rare-ness of them. You know? I do want those cards though...really bad. Oh, and it better not be like pokemon where you don't know what's in the pack. That'd just be lame.

Oh... i had no idea,i realy thought the was a sky. I though you were on about the white background. And how come Stranger himself reflects the blue light on him.
Strange.

Brillant levels, they look so huge and waste like. They also mentioned there making a big faclilte.The blue sky enivroment appears to have the big gate, and looks to have some snow!
Or is it just me again
